Thanks Machunk28.

PA just got back and offers are slightly different now

- Carmats

- 5 years warranty

- 3 years servicing

- Chrome trims except for side mirrors as the mirrors need to be replaced (Additional 1k if changing side mirrors to S-line)

- Reverse Cam with Grid lines

- Front and back dashboard

All these given but need to top up $500.00

Selling price now becomes - 169,700

OT - 19k

Trade in value of car - 20k

Any comments if I should look for someone else to squeeze them?

They asking me if I can confirm by this week before 1st September.

Also, why is it Manhattan Grey needs a top up of $1k. According to PA, they say it belongs to a different batch hence need to top up.

Other colours no need for top up. Puzzled...

Suggestion:

1. S line (Alu Matte Chrome) side mirrors can be fixed outside for much less than 1k. No point. Will NOT affect warranty even if do outside unlike things that will touch electronics.

2. Try to nego to waive off the 500.00. (Effectively, this goes into the SE's commission). They are already earning from your insurance & loan interests.

3. If they dun wanna waive off the 500.00, then push for free solar films.

Hi guys,

Correct me if i am wrong.

Overtrade concept is basically making your downpayment seems lesser but in fact your loan amount is higher hence the overall car price becomes higher.

I did a quick calculations and realized if i bought the car last month (Price was 149999 without overtrade) versus this month (Price was 169000 with overtrade of 19k) I basically will save almost 20k in total car price.

Can someone correct me if i am wrong?

My 2 cents on getting freebies:

1) Ensure the car camera recorder is of good quality. If it is Tomo T5, don't even bother as the quality, esp at night, is terrible. Understand some folks are getting the Audi Dash Cam thrown in and waiting to hear feedback on the video quality.

2) Same with solar film, make sure it is of decent quality. Had to spend $ to rip it off my other ride and reinstall as the heat rejection from the free one was totally useless.

Correct.

As an example, with a sale price of $169k due to overtrade, the max loan amount allowed is $101.4k. Trade in car is $39k so cash outlay is $28.6k

If there was no overtrade and sale price is $150k instead, the maximum loan amount is $90k. Trade in car is $20k so cash outlay is $40k. Big difference for someone who is "living on the edge"...

Not correct. The $20k overtrade comes from your own pocket.

Without overtrade, car price is $149k. With overtrade. Your invoice price is based on 169k, not 149k.

You're effectively borrowing $$ for your own downpayment, not getting a car at $20k less as u suggested. No difference from someone borrowing extra money from ah long or drawing on their Ready Credit juz to make ends meet.

If cannot understand any of this, just remember: If one has to resort to overtrade to even pay the basic downpayment, it's a clear sign that one cannot afford this car. No point trying to buy a badge under such a weak financial situation.

I went with Mythos black and nougat brown interior.

Not bad... I wonder why my SE told me the only color with nougat brown is glacier white, if you had just 'placed' your order... Different frills?

I went with the virtual cockpit option and as I understand from my SE, it "happens" that they have this colour option in stock. As far as I am aware, there are only limited ex-stock colour combination selections for virtual cockpit.

Mine's with VC too. :) Why my SE missed the chance to upsell me LOL... Or do they have specific bodies to move liao? Anyways congrats on your purchase, since you managed to get cams too!

Not quite worth for 18".

Btw, ur pkg fair price shld be ard $145k nett. $1k top up for the chrome bits is ok. Reverse cam shld be ard $1k but some got it included. It all depend on the trade-in n overtrade. SE give more 'freebies', u get less overtrade. It's a nett situation most of the time.

But I really wouldn't bother paying $7k for the VC. It's a distraction more than anything and the novelty factor wears off pretty quickly as you'll probably find that using a google map on ur phone is a lot faster n easier if u really need directions.

Fully agree with you, especially the VC part.

I was given the option to get the VC but I decided against it. The stock and traditional speedo set up is enough for me and the rest of my dashboard is pretty neat and clean with nothing at all. I prefer to focus full attention on the roads in front.

My mobile phone is always in my pocket.

Dun get me wrong. VC feature is pretty innovative of Audi. It's a nice conversation piece n great gimmick to wow passengers. If it's a $1k option, go for it. But $7k???....better off spending that on a killer looking 20" rims n still hv change leftover n the A4 looks will be transformed

Good choice of color to bring out the chromes...

Was considering between moonlight blue/black interior, but ultimately decided to go with black. It looks more striking. :)

Actually I shortlisted the blue/black too, but went with nougat interior ultimately. My chromeless grille will be quite striking against the white body I guess hahaha...
