KoreanLover 5th Gear September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 fwah.. the 2016 malibu is sleeker than the current one. price is a big issue though.. they should priced it lower than the usual camry and accord to stand a good chance oh.. and chevrolet loves to use hokkien sounding term as car names huh ? Or Lang Toh.. Ma li Bu Yes.. you are right. somemore depreciation / resale value for malibu is lower than camry even though camry looks more expensive at first glance. Cheefarn 5th Gear September 18, 2015 Share September 18, 2015 Guys the Malibu can be had for $116k w/ COE as at 18 Sep 2015. ... and that includes 1 yr free road tax, 5 yrs unlimited mileage warranty, and 1 yr free service inclusive of labor and oil. But the nice lady who served me was unable to tell me if the 2016 Malibu is coming in or not. I've checked the Chevy Korea website and there's no mentioned of this new Malibu. Instead GM CKD'd the even better Impala LTZ in Korea. 3.6L V6 DI, dual VVT. 8 speed AT. So I think this gen Malibu is going to hang on for quite a while. That 2.4L Ecotec LE9 is so much smoother and refined than Toyota 2.5L dual VVTi. And it gets better fuel economy too New additions for 2015 Malibu... - Dual zone climate control - Rear aircon vents ( finally! and nicely styled too) - Different GUI for the NaviTrack - proximity sensors all around. - Memory settings for the driver's power seat. Things still lacking in SG market Malibu - Window curtain airbags! Why were they del? - Blind spot warning. FYI, 116k can buy you a lousy, empty shell Altis 1.6 Elegance only! Malibu OMV ard 22k, Altis 19k. You do the math and u tell me which car offers better value, power, and equipment. Altis simply don't have the size, quietness, power nor specs the Malibu offers

Datsun366 Turbocharged September 19, 2015 Share September 19, 2015 This model of car was around, can see it, some were used as mata chia. U.S. Guys from SG and Malaysia just chuckled at the name. Ok lor as American cars go, none of us bought it. Celica, mr2, ford escort, Acura (mine) , Chevy firebird lah. Even a porker, but that guy Indon. They should just change the name, not very nice for Hokkien pronounciation, Maciam lychee pie. Nooooooo, what would mom think? Think chief worry for me is the breakdown factor, all the butt feeling sales goodies make buyers gnarly. Some more SK export, hmmmm. May I suggest to change the model name to something else. Tone down the sales pitch. Else, it is going to get stifled chuckles and muffled whispers at Sunday church. Imagine the kids yelling the name, oh god no. Kumlui sounds much nicer. sadrick so gentlemanly and A chord so musical. What's in a name? Good luck on the sales. Cheers.
Jamesc Hypersonic September 19, 2015 Share September 19, 2015 but the profile too alike to sonata and k5. prefer to old model with the distinct rear light cluster. Couldn't agree more. Gorgeous rear light cluster. Only US$20,000 in Korea. If I lived there this is the car I would drive.

Cheefarn 5th Gear November 8, 2015 Share November 8, 2015 engine is kind of dated but at this price, cant complain. Actually its not true at all. GM doesn't work like Toyota and Honda, the 2.4L engine code is LE9. Just google ard and you can see how it looks like and its tech specs as well. Please refer to the engine specs info from GM itself. Our Malibu engine output is already uptuned slightly from the original 2012 release. 12_LE9 Ecotec.doc

Unless they are IL6 which provides that xtra smoothness, 4 pot is kind of uninspiring. Looking at GM opel range, they have also scaled down to 1.6T replacing the 2.2L unit. in short, turbo is the way to go...!!!!!

And this engine was the top spec version. But.... GM refused to install this engine for export markets Malibu ley... :( Not Alpine's fault really. Even Korea doesn't have the 2L Turbo engine option. http://www.chevrolet.com/malibu-mid-size-sedan.html Ignore the 2.5L engine mentioned in the URL. That's the latest model with Direct Injection Our 2.4L doesn't have it ↡ Advertisement
