Okay, but 3 years later, i will be using thinner oil Redline 5w30 and not going back to Komoco as only 3 years free servicing with Shell 5w40.

I am driving a MT :)

Yah, already mentioned its spartian.. keke.. the reason why i bought it was manual transmission, ESP, 4 wheel disc brakes and reasonable good FC..

If Attrage has manual transmission, i would have bought it too. I had friends who had issues with their Mitsubishi / Honda/ Volkswagen auto tranmission after a few years, hence as far as possible i will siam auto transmission

Just back from up north, FC around 16-17km/l. Speed constant around 110-120(RPM 2.5k-3K). Really nothing to shout about.

Suspect the sweet spot for fuel saving is sub 100km/hr?

Saw a fellow grey attrage today at Lornie Road. Anyone here? :)

If you ask me, 16-17 is not too impressive as most cars can do that or better than that. My current 2l 4AT can do 14-15 on a 110 constant speed. Tried and proven

.

Not meant to belittle this attrage though. But your figure is an conbined figure or pure highway?

I asked SE why there is not drl while i saw there was in sgcarmart photo. She told me it was taken off as it is illegal... Not sure if she is correct but maybe if it is AD fitted rather than factory fitted, then it is illegal???

Exactly what Tkseah mentioned. Factory-fitted items are much more of a higher quality than locally fitted ones. Example of stuff that can be locally fitted..

  • Leather seats
  • ICE / HU
  • Foglights
  • Reverse / Front / Proximity Sensors
  • HIDs
  • DRLs
  • Bodykit
  • Aircon / Compressor
  • Sunroof
  • Alloy rims / tyres

For DRL, base on LTA website.. .if factory fitted should be ok.

Hmm.. so the many DRL listings by vendors/ workshops on sgcarmart and mcf are illegal??

Factory vs AD.. Not sure if its the same thing. But from what I know, LTA has a system in place. From your car plate, they can check your vehicle model and from there, it is listed if that particular car has DRL or HID or what not. In short, they are able to check if its factory or you aftermarket / retrofit. Thats why alot of bros kena fine for illegal HID this way.

The sweet spot for best FC is dependent on engine power curve and gear ratio mah.. Your 2l 4AT may be getting the best FC at ~110km/h, while the attrage 1.2l engine cvt probably gives the best FC at ~80km/h.. driving at 110-120km/h the FC would suffer..

What's it like driving the attrage at 110 to 120km/hr? Does the car feels sturdy? Are the brakes responsive at this speed?

I saw a grey attrage couple of days ago at Novena. My first sighting.

based on http://paultan.org/2014/02/26/driven-mitsubishi-attrage-21-kml-claims-put-test/ , quite spot on for the FC sweet spot 70-100 km/h

Two up, air con speed and temp set at the middle points, highway cruising speed ranging between 70 to 100 km/h (no coasting in neutral), no driver change (stop and start = less efficient), an allocated time of three hours (which we used to the max) and a feathery right foot combined for 24.19 km/l. Did we gain from driving a manual? The winners of the challenge did 24.7 km/l in a CVT, so no.
