Salnts 2nd Gear March 8, 2018 Share March 8, 2018 I feel that holding it at 3000rpm is more than enough to keep up with the pace of traffic. Moreover, over time, you would learn to adapt to the way the CVT behaves. I adapted to the rubberband-effect of the CVT instead of just flooring it whenever I want to accelerate. My habit is as follows: 1) When moving from a standstill, keep the revs at 3k rpm until you get the car up to 30-40kmph 2) After which, release pressure a bit to let the CVT "catch up" with the engine 3) Press on the pedal again and you would feel the car pulling itself to higher speeds, but at a lower rpm of around 2 to 2.5k I do this and manage to average about 5.5 to 6.5 litres per 100km. But I agree that the engine has to work hard to move the car and your sensitivity to the behavior of the engine-CVT combo matters a lot. Play around with the accelerator. I find that the solution to making the car move at its fastest rate is not flooring it at the start, but rather working the pedal slowly. wow thanks for sharing.. a friend's friend who drives uber was saying he gets very bad FC and dissed the car. Maybe he didnt drove it properly... I hope i dont get 10km/l LOL ↡ Advertisement

Cypher 4th Gear March 10, 2018 Share March 10, 2018 Maybe due to the nature of CVT and not because of the engine itself.

Salnts 2nd Gear March 10, 2018 Share March 10, 2018 Today took an Uber and the driver also complained about poor FC. So I'm sure most of them time cos they just stepped down hard on the accelerator makes me worried. i need to do almost 80km daily. if Attrage really 10km/L really i faint... then again when you see vios. some say 17km/l yet some claim 11km/l depends on type or highway and right foot right? D_orai 2nd Gear March 11, 2018 Share March 11, 2018 (edited) makes me worried. i need to do almost 80km daily. if Attrage really 10km/L really i faint... then again when you see vios. some say 17km/l yet some claim 11km/l depends on type or highway and right foot right? I do about 70km per day during the weekdays and a bit less on weekends(depends on whether I need to run any errands) and manage to drive almost 550-600km until I reach the last 2 bars on the fuel guage. But I drive 40% city 60% highway and stick to 80kmph on the third lane most of the time. I drive very light-footed, so the average fuel consumption shows 5.5-6.5 litres per 100km, but when my heavy-footed son drives the car, the average consumption shoots up to 8-9.9 litres per 100km. So it really depends on what kind of driver you are. But the Vios was an exception for me. I don't know why, but when I used to own my 2006 vios, I easily managed to hit 650-700 km on a full tank (wait until the last bar blinking then I top up) even when my son drove and always revs until 3-3.5k rpm. Shern25 2nd Gear March 11, 2018 Share March 11, 2018 Hi I'm about to buy attrage. Have a question: If the car has five adults in it, can the car climb up the slopes in multi-story carpark?

Have a question: If the car has five adults in it, can the car climb up the slopes in multi-story carpark? can lah... i tested the car fully loaded. was okay.. i think you will only have issues when going beyond 80km.hr on highway fully loaded. otherwise the toque initially is ok

Haha i believe every car in sg should be able to climb up the slope in muti-storey carpark with full load. Is just that u need to rev more for car with lesser torque. If the car doesnt climb, most probably u excessively exceed the load that the car can even handle, eg sqeezing 10 adult in the attrage...

No issues. Our mscp slopes are not that steep. Just step a bit more on the accelerator and up you go
