Kb27 Supersonic June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 Punggol traffic is bad as the only major "entrance/exit" is TPE. Now, if a bridge can be built between Punggol and Pasir Ris, that would relieve quite a bit of traffic jams. ↡ Advertisement
13177 Hypersonic June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 Looks like they are begining to develop punggol with malls and eatery?! Safra punggol also going to open in next year.
Beehive3783 Turbocharged June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 Ave 10 is not the furthest the jam can extend to. It can start even before Ave 12 exit. Yup. During the construction, I thought they are widening the exit. Who knows they create such a big bus lane/stop. The exit is even more narrow. The evening jam on TPE caused by the exit design can extend all the way to Tampines Ave 10. Sorry, but what is Punggol Plaza? Can eat? Seletar mall is like theme park compare to Punggol plaza. Go see yourselves which one is more sad.

Lala81 Hypersonic June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 Seletar Mall is a sad place. Might as well go to Compass Point or AMK Hub. AMK Hub? Seriously? I only go there for NTUC Income. Well i live in North and work at northeast. Seletar mall is as good for a surburban non-MRT mall as it gets around this part of town. The only 2 malls north of town with decent size and variety would be Junction 8 or Northpoint. And for the Northeast, nothing compares to NEX. The main reason people from further away won't find Seletar Mall interesting is because it's mostly filled with F&B outlets (the usual franchises) rather than actual retail shops. Toothiewabbit Supersonic June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 I hope the new mall's layout is well thought-out and walkways are wide enuf to accommodate the crowd
Lala81 Hypersonic June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 (edited) These surburban malls are to cater to immediate population. All the standard brands are what the people wants haha. NTUC, swensens, DTF/Crystal Jade etc, Popular, Kiddy palace, uition centers, cinema, M1/Singtel/SH etc Edited June 22, 2015 by Lala81
Lala81 Hypersonic June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 Oh thought this place is the watertown area. This will be the equivalent of rivervale/seletar mall then.

Now, if a bridge can be built between Punggol and Pasir Ris, that would relieve quite a bit of traffic jams. A temporary exit is being built between Punggol East and near Lorong Halus, this is only an exit, no entrance to Punggol. There's also a semi expressway behind those new flats along Punggol waterway, this will be likely linked directly to Pasir Ris side and to the expressways. this will easily take another 3 to 5 years to complete after 10 long years.... finally will Punggol have a hawker centre too? Hawker has been announced some time back, beside the MRT, but have yet to start construction

They always plan things in 5yrs terms. Not sure why. But it will be the extension of KPE to lorong Halus, then link to punggol. The 1st bridge most probably be at the Prawning pond at the open air carpark beside the driving range. The Tze Char joint already closed.

If it's going to Fairprice Xtra then the size will be probably at least be Hougang Point size. Or else I prefer to have Fairprice Finest which will offer more variety.

For this Shanghai are far ahead of us on planning already, many of their suburban area road already built, subway really even before start building house. Will_I_Am 2nd Gear June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 Punggol Plaza is the only mall for the past 10 years in Punggol. Small as it may be, it comes with wet market, KFC/Pizza Hut/Canadian Pizza, OCBC, NTUC, Watson, 24hrs Cheers Store among others. Next to it is the community Club with HDB Branch office, SingPost and McDonald. So much food options, maybe can eat. :P Ave 10 is not the furthest the jam can extend to. I only go amk hub for the cinema coz I prefer Cathay. And sun plaza is probably getting worse and worse. Personally I find seletar mall more than decent enough for the neighbourhood in fernvale. Cannot be compare to waterway point or compass point coz these are suppose to be the main shopping mall in respective estates. It's definitely much better than other neighbourhood malls like rivervale mall or punggol plaza. I hope punggol waterway point can offer something different if not I will just stick to nex as the main shopping mall for people like me who stay in northeast.

Disappointed with SM tenants, layout, design and seems very narrow walkway. the same goes for rivervale mall Only compass point is worth visiting. The rest, nah. Hopefully CP will renovate for a better one.

Stupid NTUC on 3rd floor. Once i bought a lot of stuff there. By the time i walk to the hdb carpark, my arms were seriously cramping. Overestimated myself lol ↡ Advertisement
