Why cannot criticise? If the guy is so big and strong then they should have taken better precautions and not left him with just one officer. Also, was he not restrained? Our famous Amos yee was handcuffed and shackled at the legs with 5-6 guards escorting him as he is some triad boss with his gang waiting to break him free. If this is the SOP for a keyboard warrior, then why was the SOP for this fellow so different? What crime was he caught for anyway? I don't think a simple shoplifter would have been desperate enough to do something like this. Please remember that our policemen are paid to encounter dangers like this. Yes, it would have been sad if he had been badly injured or killed but it would be even sadder if innocent bystanders had died due to our SPF's incompetence and negligence. i hear that SPF these days do not have a proper self-defense/martial arts program in place... There should be one but it probably sucks. Refraining of the guy is a must, as this should restrict his movement in snatching the revolver... Another is to have 2 SPF officers at all times... so that there should not be any instance of having only one officer against one guy... Maybe the 3rd improvement, imho, is to have doctors visiting the prison cells or dedicated medical room in the prison wards, rather than having the chance of escorting the guy to public hospitals (unless its really emergency)... this will reduce the potential occurrence of endangering public safety... I have nursed prisoners before. Few ppl have met a person who is so desperate that he uses 100% of his muscle strength amd mental strength. They have all the time in the world to make you complacent, observe your weakness and then strike. If you look at the reply in the news, it does not say very much on the SOP. This is because criminalsare also reading the forums and learning also. That is y sometimes, yes, discussing in forum is good and I am aactive also BUT some things are just not meant to be online.
