I think I stream 2.... Mazda -> Subaru ->MB -> Lexus -> MB

FWD -> AWD -> RWD -> RWD ->AWD

the subaru might be the oddity in the mix

I guess in SUV segment, Your new Q5 will be interesting with 250 bhp.

I can see a clear pattern in choosing car makes:

Stream 1: Honda --> BMW --> Porsche (This is pretty much my route, even though I had Nissan, Mazda for very very short period in between)

Stream 2: Toyota --> MB / Lexus --> Another MB or Lexus.

Stream 3: Confused ones with slogan - My money, I buy whatever is available.

If anyone from hardcore Stream 1, no point wasting time with any makes in stream 2 unless or otherwise he/she ages prematurely (like our friend @Turboflat4 [:p]  [laugh]

the rear boot space is not about the total volume.

It's also the access. the SUV have squarish upright opening while the coupe has a narrow longish loading. Makes alot of difference when you have luggage or bulky items to try packing into the rear.

That said, I find that the GLC coupe utility level is about there of a larger sedan/sedan hatch (eg. the modeo/mazda6 hatch of the old)

I dont think rear headroom is a problem at all unless you have passengers who are 2m tall. I am 1.92m tall and I fit into the rear seats comfortably.

Boot space between the two is not too much limited, appro 50L difference? From what I compare between the two, the GLC has a rear flat boot. However, the GLC Coupe has a boot lip. I prefer flat boot for easy loading. But actually not that easy too cos of the height of the car. Still needs lots of effort to lift it up higher to slide in.

Price, I dont know.

that is a given for any models with SUV/Coupe version etc X3 vs x4, X5 vs X6, GLE vs GLE coupe.  Form vs Function. Something gotta give...and I am glad I don't have to give a lot.

GLC coupe diesel is the 250D  from PI I suppose.

Yes, the torque is fantastic but current climate to buy a diesel should have just gone over the top with an alpina x3/X5 diesel, more worth the while with super car territory kind of performance.

Comparing the two, GLC and GLC Coupe side by side, GLC looks very uncle type. [lipsrsealed]

My bro is getting the GLC Coupe Diesel with 500NM. He test drove it and placed a deposit. I went with him to look see look see. These cars are currently out of my pocket range, can only envy. [laugh]

The driver entry also bit tight in both GLCs? I (1.8m) found bit odd when I went for GLC launch last year. It could be just me!

I think mainly because of the running boards. the front doors actually open super wide..almost 90 degree out.

I like the looks of the running boards but still getting used to the stretch to get in and out of the driver seat. GLC is not the hardcore SUVs have very tall ride height to warrant the running boards.

But my kid loves to use the running boards to climb up and down the car on his own....that by itself is enough for me to just leave it be.

Yup, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Practical wise - GLC

Beauty wise - GLC Coupe

One thing amazed me abt the GLC Coupe is the rear camera cum boot opening lever, its the emblem itself. Very nice, also can select wide angle view or normal view from the camera.

For those considering GLC SUV vs Coupe. These should be helpful. note the coupe interior, even the driver's seat space are smaller by quite a smudge.

Oh yesss.... the X5M50d or even better X6M50d :wub: . Drove one before and it actually felt very calm inside even though the monster was accelerating fast and furious with the 700+ of torque. Unfortunately, pocket not deep enough to sign on the dotted line....

The BMW F06 has the integrated boot opening + reverse car cam on the emblem and yes, very clever design. However for the F06, the reverse camera will not close up until you drive off above a certain speed and there were a couple of times when people attempted to open the boot with the emblem still open and camera sticking out - almost broke off the camera! Not sure if it is the same with the GLC.

This is good

The GLC looks more masculine and gives more value for dollar vs the GLC coupe.

The choice is clear for me.

I'm second to that, GLC is more spacious and value for money.
