for me the formula is simple, CnC no have diesel one, I want diesel. So to save a couple 10Ks and get a diesel and a highly spec unit made my decision process a whole lot easier, not to mention ex stock in the colour of my choice and a very reputable PI.

For Merc, very easy to know whats spec on the car, just get the vin number and decode it online. No one can BS u

Bro, good Info's on C&C spec. Leant new thing every day

Is the waiting list still one year? The product manager for GLC at Dialmer AG is a fxcking moron to lose so many customers globally because of inadequate supply.

On the contrary, he should be promoted for creating super 'high demand' image to the customer.

Look at how Apple sell their phone..

Purposely, slow down the production of the phone to create a news and 'high demand' fight among its customer.

Waiting list comes down to 3-4 months now. But cannot have options.

I do hope the various accolades around the world for the GLC is not part of the product manager's devious planning.

AND if he is consciously trying to limit production to create demand/desirability....he is damn bad at planning:

FWIW, Dialmer AG FY earnings missed the analysts estimated, share went down 4% in early trading today. Any additional earnings from GLC would have helped the €500 Millions missed at EBIT level.

Car buying cycle for consumers are much longer than mobile phones, once the consumer decided to buy another brand, he may not come back for a few years. Not to mention for the case of GLC, main competitors such as BMW X3 and Volvo XC60 should be launching new models soon. As far as I know, BMW X3 is still the reference for medium size luxury SUV.

so why target GLC leh? why not other volume sellers? how many GLCs do they need to sell to hit 500 million?

whether they take 1 year to ship, or cannot meet capacity, or never hit revenue targets, none of my business. i won't get worked up over it. none of my business anyway.

so many other cars to choose and buy. i won't bark up the wrong tree here.

Actually, i think by suppressing supply in high demand area to avoid giving discounts thus increase margins per unit, i think is a smart move. The balance between inventory, production, demand and pricing is a fine balancing act. Producing too many and flood the inventory could potentially suppress pricing.

You should be looking at the top line, i.e. revenue instead of EBITDA or EBIT if you're focusing on sales volume. Many other factors affects the bottom line, and even EBIT. There maybe asset revaluation and impairment which affects the depreciation and amortization before you arrive at EBIT. For operating performance, look at EBITDA, and their inventory and PPE from the balance sheet. There is also forex exposure to look at in the P+L if their big sales volume are exposed to high currency volatility countries, which in 2016, happens to be UK with the high depreciation of GBP compared to EURO, which is Daimler's reporting currency.

I saw the latest Bentley SUV

Wah not bad leh

Better get macan

Today went down to V*ncar to check out the GLC &GLC coupe..

My dad like the glc250d coupe amg premium plus very much.. however still want to go down to c&c first to check out the price n promo. Downside is no test drive.. so wont knw how it really feels behind the wheels.

Warranty is by MBM Wheelpower.. i know they do servicing for alot of sports cars but since mercs is using a new 9-G gearbox, abit hesitant to go PI way.

Oh we also tested the lexus rx 2.0 turbo.. all i can say.. disappointed.

The car was lazy to move off (underpowered). Interior thou looks luxurious (alot of leather-stitched panels all around) but dont really give a luxury car feel (still lose to european makes in the "ohm" feeling..

Was sitting in the rear.. didnt feel like "oh dammit i want this car!" Dad also didnt like the drive.. the light weighted steering wheel just didnt feel right after driving a bmw for years

The conti (bmw/mercs) makes got ambience lighting at the doors, dashboard etc to make the car a more comfortable place to be in.

Too little time to try our makes since it started raining heavily..might see Volvo xc90 next.

Anyway dads f10 trade in price is quite sickening low.. so.. all these will need further consideration haha

I tested rx turbo too. Super disappointed with the drive though it looks nice in and out
