It was reported before in the Mz3 thread that some car owners actually sees Shell EO being used for their servicing. If special receive then no Skyactiv cars can service their cars outside TEK. We are bonded to them till the ride is sold or scrapped. Pretty good income for TEK then.

The number before W doesn't matter to us in tropical countries where we do not have winter. The EO will not be frozen in our climate.

I don't know if they use shell EO. Have not seen it. But the customer told me fit skyactiv, Mazda uses their own recipe of 0W-20 oil.

The w stands for the oil rating at winter temp. The smallest the number it means that the oil will be thinner and it will flow faster to the engine parts at say 0 degree Celsius winter temp. This is my understanding. But for people that are always using the car is the early morning where the engine is pretty cold, I believe it will make a difference for the w rating.

For hot country like s' pore, we are more concern abt the number at the last 2 digit of the oil rating. The represent the viscosity of the oil at abt 100 degrees Celsius.

That's my understanding, I may be wrong.

Also I remember some car using shell EO could be the the old type of model eg sjx xxxx plate. Not skyactiv. That why some see them using she'll EO

Am at LK service center now. Spoke to the SA on servicing outside and he told me use 5W-20. That's the 'special' oil they use due to low viscosity so can achieve better FC.

I agree. For me now is to find what EO have _W-20 specs available in our local market.

actually its already stated in the driver manual that MZ Skyactiv engine uses either W20 or W30. The so call original EO its just a repackage of other brand EO.

Anyone tried removing the stock exhaust tip for the deluxe model from the muffler yet? Is it it clip on or welded?

Will also need to source for the oil filter pe01-14-302. Not the normal OEM filter you can get easily. The thread size is different. Oil maybe can try to source for Mobil or castrol. Should be able to get 5w20 or 5

I understand that our battery is also using gs yuasa 90d23l. Contacted gs yuasa, not willing to sell, advise to go to tek. Found out later they are the distributor for tek.
