If it's between Renault Captur and Nissan Qashqai (both using the same 1.2L turbo)I would choose the later.

 

But price different is quite a lot thought size is better from QQ.

Wonder hows the reliability of the 1.5 dci engine.. read some oversea forum comment about some issues with it's smart key where by car sometime wont start. Too many electric board in the car? or Bugs..?:)

ok if u intend to drive 3 year and sell once warranty over

after that good luck

 

wow... meaning cannot tahan once after warranty period?

 

If were to sell after 3 yrs will also lost a lot in value too... :huh:

if u intend to do the above now, better standby someone to haul u to a 24hr clinic or A&E after u pass out

Some years ago I heard from a Megane owner with the same problem of cannot unlock the doors and engine unable start with the "smart" key. It's amazing to see the problem still persist today.

 

Get the Nissan equivalent.

not forgetting road tax.. diesel although smaller cc. 1.5 = 2.0 road tax

own a Renault grand scenic for a year.. so far so good..

I don't believe it cannot tahan beyond 3yr.. logically we should say in term of mileage.. there are plenty of diesel truck/van on the road running few hundreds thousand of km, no issue.. why cant our last the same... it is just bias comment that it cant last. but I do agree no resale value.. so drive to end.

 

how much mileage can you clock for 10years. I give you 300k km.. those diesel van Renault or VW or whatever, easily they done that in 5years. and their cars still going strong.. experience myself.

Thru, heard diesel cars got better tolerance than petrol. Actually road tax ok cos the petrol price is alrdy climbing upwards.. without control.

Well we can't out smart our government. We won't even know when the coe, erp or taxes will go up or down. Most importantly is what's happening now n how each budget can handle. Who know tomorrow what will happen.

i test droved the diesel somewhere in January.

 

it drives and feels like any petrol car.

surprising quiet cabin.

no performance to shout about but again they dun sell performance here.

gadgets and interior built beat any jap/kor car (at that price range) hands down.

 

reasons y I din commit:-

1) back seats quite cramp for 3 adults, leg room not much

2) SE says can pump non euro 5 petrol in Malaysia, but there is no written confirmation on this.

3) not sure about reliability of the brand

 

if the looks really attracts you, you really should go down and test drive it.

Cannot unlock 'cos sometimes the button contact buay jiak. Try a few times, it should open. If everything fails, pull out the "toothpick" and manually open from the passenger side.

you need really calculate the depreciation taking into consideration the CEV rebate and diesel tax. if you travel less then may not make sense.

if you need to go JB.. you can remove the filter come back then put it back. basically is the filter.. will get choke with dirty diesel in JB but again I think JB now has euro5 diesel

reliability ok la..if van can survive why not
