Watwheels Supersonic June 4, 2015 Share June 4, 2015 Whether the motorcyclist is a saint or not, Pang should have controlled his temper. Cannot be everything also an eye for an eye right? "DPP Lee responded that investigations had found no evidence of these photographs, and that even if it had been the case, Pang's reaction was still disproportionate." You go tell Pang. See what he says. ↡ Advertisement

Ghostrider 3rd Gear June 4, 2015 Share June 4, 2015 Lim is the lorry driver behind prime mover. Guess he is driving a hugh vehicle, and didn't keep a safe distance from the prime mover. Even though what Pang did was wrong, the fatal accident could have been avoided if Lim had kept a safe distance... It was reported that Lim brake and his vehicle swerved into the next lane causing the bike to crash into him... I still think he (Lim) kenna a raw deal here...

Kezg1 5th Gear June 4, 2015 Share June 4, 2015 dont understand why the prime mover driver Lim was also jailed. ...follow too close cannot brake in time..probably at a higher speed, when break... vehicles swing to one side thus hit the m cyclist..i guess
Kusje Supersonic June 4, 2015 Share June 4, 2015 It was reported that Lim brake and his vehicle swerved into the next lane causing the bike to crash into him... I still think he (Lim) kenna a raw deal here... Retraction from Straits Times. An earlier version of this story said that Lim Kok Aun was jailed for four weeks and fined $7,000. We are sorry for the error. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/courts-crime/story/driver-caused-nine-vehicle-pile-pie-20150604#sthash.SgORry5n.dpuf So seems Lim was only fined 7k and disqualified for 4 years. Of course, for a lorry driver to be disqualified from driving at the age of 48 means he will be jobless for quite some time.

Acemundo Supercharged June 4, 2015 Share June 4, 2015 workshop doesn't always mean a car workshop. you refer to earlier @mustank post csi this pang guy, it seems he was a workshop manager of this MTQ listed company. I believe something like particular section of manufacturing plant can also be called a workshop. He owns a workshop. Which car or bike WS is that? Hydrocarbon Turbocharged June 4, 2015 Share June 4, 2015 So much comprehension fail by many bros here But it was good to hear about the sentence. Some might say that 4 months isn't enough... but lets be honest... this wasn't murder or even homicide. It was a rash act by a stupid person which unfortunately resulted in someone's death. In the Gulf world, they have blood money as a more direct restitution for harm done... it is some measure of help to the family of the deceased. I know speaking with friends here... that the bereavement claims is low here.... I think $15k or $25k... I forgot. I disagree. Yes, it wasn't murder, but it did cause the death of an innocent bystander (or motorcyclist), as the result of a chain reaction of accidents. After which, Pang drove off (excuse was he was chasing after the other driver who took photographs) and did not render assistance. 4 months in jail for causing (indirect) death through his actions doesn't seem to me like an appropriate punishment. And with the incidence of road rage, he should be banned from driving for a longer time. One might argue it is a rash act, but so are those who throw killer litter from HDB, and that carries a more severe punishment, with regards to jail term. Such a light (IMHO) sentencing might not be enough to deter others from similar incidents of road rage.
