Rustyz 5th Gear July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 Then get yourself a Saab. Unless the would-be thief has a tow truck. Heck, car thieves nowadays are quite advanced, they can even start 1 with keyless entry and start system. Haha they maybe hungry for your part for organ transfer. Don't under estimate them Bring along this. after parking, release all the air for all 4 tires. Very dangerous. U r a open target for robbery n they can always wait for u pump all 4 tyre then rob u n the car.
Leoloe 1st Gear July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 I believe "Theft of Vehicle" is the entire vehicle stolen, it could be a motorbike, car , commercial vehicle. I've seen "Theft from Vehicle" that would most likely be a vehicle broken into and the contents stolen. Theft of Vehicle is stealing property inside the car or the whole car kena stolen? Of course if just 1 additional km, the insurance will still pay on goodwill I believe.

Acemundo Supercharged July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 from my understanding of English grammar, "vehicle theft" must refer to stealing of vehicles. "theft of vehicle" ,however, means any form of stealing, looting from vehicle which may include cases of merely belongings in vehicle being stolen. Theft of Vehicle is stealing property inside the car or the whole car kena stolen?
Superhino 1st Gear July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 errr... is it common to hv 3 veh thefts in 5 mths in the same carpark??? I thought there are CCTVs everywhere and around the carparks. Did the police retrieve the video for their investigation or the CCTVs are all dummies? No wonder the thief after stealing 1 wasn't enough, came back for another 2? Rustyz 5th Gear July 20, 2015 Share July 20, 2015 (edited) https://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=SG&v=tnAFl3KmA8o&hl=en-GB A few pointer to share steering wheel lock is not safe as it is easy to saw a steering wheel and remove the lock but it is useful when using it during face to face combat. Brake lock, i heard is the strongest material in the car and hard to saw open, however some require welding and may hinder driving Some suggested to remove spark plug, fuse, tyre and air please be extra careful, you are just sitting duck, the thief will just rob u after r done with making the car roadworthy. Be extra careful at petrol station after filling fuel. It is a hotspot I saw this video not sure if it is useful something similar to bro Kb27 Lastly amazon sells a lock to physical to lock OBD2 port for 99usd. Please share your thoughts. Thank you To understand how it can be stolen is to understand how a car works or don't work. For cars with factory-fitted immobiliser, they have a key (RFID) to match the ecu software key. If it doesn't match, the engine won't start or shut down if you try to start it. Professional thieves have access to key or code readers. They have the tools to trick the ecu and steal your car. Physical barrier to moving a car: If your car is parked with wheels steering locked either to extreme left or right position, it's harder to get a tow truck to steal it. Unless they can get a physical key in to unlock and straighten the wheels. In addition, people put steering and brake locks...which can be damaged and removed by brute force, if it's not strong enough. With/without immobilizer, you still need to crank the engine and provide it with fuel, ignition spark, air to start running. For some cars you need to step on the brake or the clutch to enable cranking. For auto gears, it needs to be in P or N position. These are usually controlled by switches. If the switch breaks or not working properly, you can't crank. Which also means you can insert additional switches and hide them, that only you know where to find them and switch on or off. And also if you have a bad battery, you can't crank. Your car needs fuel which is provided by the pump, through fuses and relays. Again, you can insert additional hidden switches or fuse or even remove the relay. You can also messed around with the low-tension side of ignition. A thief needs to fix the problems you created if he wants to steal. But it's unlikely, he will hang around for long and try to fix car with "problems". But if he just wants to break into you car, bcuz he saw some nice things exposed in full view, you can't stop him. Thank you Whatever tool there is available to lock the OBD2 port, there will be a way to unlock it also. Its better to make it physically harder for the thief to move the car as well. You can't stop a thief that really wants your car but you can try to make him choose another car that is an easier target instead.
