Finally got to watch the replay last night.

Guess the feeling is definitely going to be different from watching it live, esp. after reading all the posts here as well as news from other sources.

Just concerned that BVB could be so clinical when they attack. They are really good. Credits to Pool for not giving up and then going all the way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Sakho was indeed poor at defending, playing them onside for all 3 goals. If he was alert to it, the 3 goals conceded would not have been so easy.

BVB must feel hard done by, when both sakho and lovren scored headers. We don't score headers often, so it's strange that there can be 2 in what, 15 min?

Sturridge was not sure where the ball was before he passed to milner to cross for the last goal⦠quite worrying for him. Milner on the other hand, ran his lungs out i'm sure, covering all grounds esp after Can left. The rest of the team didn't seem to be as industrious leh.

If we want to have a breakthrough, we'll need to find players who are technically gifted and can keep running. A taller version of Kante would be great⦠Is the chap we signed but loan back in this mould?

Whoever we want to sign fr Defence please none from Dortmund... Just as hopeless if not more Edited by BenTong

More importantly is he powerful. Which i don't think he is.

Sui jiak fellas we got a lot. Coutinho, lallana. They aren't fast but they do run a lot.

LOL

I have to say sakho is at fault for the 2nd goal totally but he did redeem himself cos twice his tackle stopped a high chance of goal. The one aubemayang was in a perfect position but sakho changed the trajectory of the cross.

Origi was the best player to me for LFC again last night.

His diagonal runs.

Reus seems good. Very efficient and clinical on the ball.

His assist and his goal were both good.

Klopp has banned the players from touching "this is anfield" sign until they actually win something in respect for former Liverpool greats.

Especially Hummel... some of the goals conceded by BVB in Bundesliga are like school boy mistakes

Bro, don't judge Hummel defensively in just this one match. That guy has been the core team of Dortmund since Klopp days and is like a Gerrard to them.

He is a very compose defender who has no problem going fwd to midfield and provide that defence splitting pass or support. You can see his class in Dortmund's third goal. Took the ball in midfield, run with it to draw some defenders out, shielded the ball  to wait for a perfect timing and then the killer pass to Reus . Look almost effortless, very clinical and precise. How many central defenders can do that?

But for this match, I think even the best defenders in the world will not be able to stop Pool from scoring. Even the best defensive line will be made to look like schoolboys. When a team is driven by pure emotion and fighting spirit, nothing in the world can really stop them. Look at Leicester, and you will know what I mean.

Agreed.. Hummels in the first half was a beast.. he's got the ball skills.. leadership.. He's not what u call the "skrtel" "sakho" kind of defender..

An excellent ball reader, classy and plays well with his feet.. Utd was so mad with him a few seasons ago.. offering more den 20mils for him??

As u guys have read my post earlier.. U watch the replays again..

I wouldn't 100% blame sakho on his positioning.. it's a split decision making..

Sakho wasn't giving the oppositions onside because he was alone, his eyes were left on another player behind.. it's hard to have that 1 eye on the player behind/beside you while deciding whether u can make it for that offside trap.. I can't fault him.. it's not easy coming from a player..

Clyne wasn't at fault.. he tucked in to prevent the players for cutting in.. but the through ball was faultless, Reus outpaced him.. You have a decision to make, either u stretched out wide to cover reus, leave a gap between lovren and the box.. allowing whoever is on the ball to dart through.. or u cover the space, which sadly was exploited.. communication maybe.. but we can't fault all 3 goals.. they were excellent timed masterpiece of counter attack at its best..

Give credit where credit is due.. dun find a scapegoat just becus there's a fault to find..

BVB were excellent counter attacking, but our never say die attitude is something not many clubs can get.. our fans, our heart.. LFC!

YNWA!

A major statistic I read today

Dortmund hadn’t lost a game in which they had led by two goals for some 21 years.

we won because our team never gave up and kept fighting to the end. the energy that came with Klopp following his appointment is immense. and clearly, it resonated with our 12th man during the match. the gaffer and the 12th man had galvanised our team to keep going.  :yuush:

we didn't play the prettiest football, but through sheer will and determination, we managed to conjure goals in those sporadic moments, when it mattered the most. our players understood the adage that a match ain't really over until the referee blows the final whistle. YNWA!!!  [bounce1]

but credit to this Dortmund team even though they lost this match. Reus, in particular, was outstanding and had a stellar game. the timing of his runs, the quality of his assist and goal were certainly top-notch.  :a-m1212:

Salute to our boss :)

Sign players that want to play for Pool in good and bad times :))

Jurgen Klopp insists he would only sign players with the right attitude for Liverpool, saying he only wants new arrivals who are “up for a fight”.

The German has already instilled an impressive team spirit at Liverpool since taking charge midway through the season, as exemplified by their dramatic comeback against his former club Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night.

Liverpool looked down and out at 2-0 down within 10 minutes, and trailed 3-1 with an hour played. But Philippe Coutinho, Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren struck to seal a stunning victory that shook the continent.

Klopp, who is expected to dip into the transfer market this summer, says he wants players who will go beyond the call of duty – as he did as a player.

“I was a fighting machine with a will of iron,” he told men’s lifestyle magazine The Red Bulletin.

“Anyone can have a good day but you have to be able to perform on a bad day.

“That’s what you live for as a sportsman. You have to put up a fight.

“If you are full of motivation as a player, if you are full of concentration I am open arms.

“If you are not, of course [i am hard] but only because to work with players who don’t understand the professional part of this life is a waste of time.

“I would never sign an a * ****** just because he’s great at football.”

Rafa first season we made history with the comeback of all come back. Rafa used a team mostly assembled by previous manager. 2005.

Kloop first season. Team from previous manager. Another greatest comeback.

Look at those remaining teams g or the draw. Who do we fear? None.
