From BBC

Former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is Liverpool's first choice to replace Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked after Sunday's 1-1 draw at Everton.

The Northern Irishman was dismissed following almost three-and-a-half years in charge, with the Reds in 10th position in the Premier League.

No deal has yet been done with Klopp, 48, who won two German Bundesliga titles with Dortmund.

Ex-Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, 56, is also being considered.

"The search for a new manager is under way and we hope to make an appointment in a decisive and timely manner," said a Liverpool statement announcing the departure of 42-year-old Rodgers.

Yes it is, Euro qualifiers for European countries and WC qualifiers for rest of the World.

EPL resumes 17/10.

Think that's why they chose this time to remove BR so that there is ample time to get the new man settled in.

That said, as majority of the players are away on International duty, there is also a drawback as the new Mgr won't be able to meet his players till next Wed at the earliest but at least he can plan and get himself acquainted with the training ground, staff etc.

Turbocharged

dun count chicks before they hatch bros....

Apparantly kono was odds on to sign but somehow they got the tickets to sevilla instead of liverpool.

for FSG: the shortlist will be likely the below:

FDB, Klopp, Koeman, Monk, maybe even AVB, forward thinking coaches.

After a whole today of flying over the rainbow and moon, its time to fall back on the ground ... and take stocks of what we are heading to...

Hopefully the new manager can come on board and take stocks of the training ground, training staffs and members of LFC ....

And then train with who ever are left at Anfield without international duties.. and then wait for the internationals to come back...

I always remember this... we cannot be bad overnight... the players can't be bad overnight... its just the manager who deploy the players ...

Hopefully with a new manager, our team can be more cohesive and fight for Pool :)

Agree. How can good player become bad after they join us? Some 'bad' LFC players suddenly performing well after they left the club. Something was wrong with our training and tactics.

To me whoever take over also nvm as long he is out

Wah...bro....don't be so chin chai leh...later appoint Roberto Martinez / Tim Sherwood etc....

Actually, if JM gets sacked by Chelsea, and get appointed by Livierpool, it would be interesting to see if he is really the Special One. Other than Porto, all the other teams he undertook were already Championship material...It would be a real test to see if his managerial persuasive skills can propel us to UCL this season and title winners next season

Look at how much Sterling is flourishing with Man City...he is being played in the right position.

Can as RCB and Ibe as wingback is a joke...

I have to say, Jamie Carragher gave a very honest opinion of Liverpool FC.

Liverpool have won one Carling Cup in 10 years. Liverpool are becoming Tottenham. They think they are a big club but the real big clubs are not too worried about them." - Jamie Carragher -

I think it's more than just a manager to change the team, even with either the 2 top choice coming in still bo bao can be title contender.

Totally agreed. But then again, without a top manager, it would be difficult to persuade potential players to join as well and help the cause. At least with JK / CA / JM, there's a certain calibre and trust that players will be pulled to. If you appoint Chris Houghton / Tim Sherwood, what are the calibre of players we will be contemplating to join us? Probably the lower rung of potential
