Jurgen Klopp has been widely tipped to replace Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool manager and he has added fuel to the fire with these comments.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach has criticized Rodgers in an interview with the BBC.

Klopp slammed Rodgers’ treatment of former Liverpool Nuri Sahin and questioned his tactics.

‘It was the wrong position,’ Klopp said of why things didn’t work out for the Turkish star at the club.

‘If you are a number six or eight and are asked to play at nine or ten, it’s not possible.

‘For some guys of course it is possible, Nuri is a brilliant player but not nine and a half and not ten and I don’t know why Brendan Rodgers will do this.’

Shots fired!

I agree.

We doubt that Jamie Vardy set out to embarrass Liverpool today.

Unfortunately for Brendan Rodgers , that hasn't stopped the Leicester City forward from doing so.

Having just scored in his side's match against Norwich at Carrow Road, he's unintentionally brought up an unwanted statistic for the Reds.

Vardy has now scored 7 Premier League goals this season - the same number as Liverpool's entire team.

That's right. Jamie Vardy, previously of Halifax Town and Fleetwood, has as many strikes as a side with aspirations of nabbing themselves a Champions League spot.

The fans will no doubt fume over this, especially when they realise the management have scouted out several former non-league players and only ever signed Rickie Lambert .

Just watch the Chelsea vs Southampton match, with Southampton winning it 3-1.

Southampton played a very good game. And I thought we "raided" the team of "good players"? obviously we raided the wrong set of players. [smash]

I wonder if JM would be sacked after this string of results, and go for Klopp? If so, I don't mind if JM comes to Liverpool. [:p]

Should look at Soton 3rd goal. Counter attack at its finest.

BTW, we didn't raid the wrong players. We raided a wrong manager who doesn't know how to bring out the best of them.

A square can only fit into square hole, and likewise a circle can only fit into a round hole !

Even kindergarten kids also know!

We raided a manager that achieved nothing ... got sacked by Reading in 2009 after 6 torrid months... And now, want to continue his worst managerial skills after 3 years in LFC...

He just want to bring Pool down !

Crap !

And this guy can go back to Chelsea and lead them win the championship playoff final. Biggest achievement after the Swansea playoff win he will say.

jia lat, at this rate Moaner might be sacked before Big Mouth. While I love them to get reunited, that would mean another top position would be vacant.

Com'on FSG, chop chop !!

I hope BR plays his best tactics tonight... and he will learn that his best tactics is actually crap !

Damned it, made our Pool suffer like shit, and he still able to earn 7.3 mil compensation ... kaoz...

http://www.teamtalk.com/news/rodgers-may-be-sacked-if-liverpool-lose-derby-report

Brendan Rodgers faces the sack if Liverpool lose the Merseyside derby to Everton, according to national newspaper reports on Sunday.

Rodgers retained the faith of Fenway Sports Group despite Liverpool finishing sixth in the Premier League last season, but a poor start to the new campaign has led to serious questions being asked of the Northern Irishman.

Now, the Sunday People claims defeat for the Reds at Goodison Park on Sunday could spell the end for Rodgers, with FSG apparently seeing the international break as the ideal time to change managers if necessary.

Club sources are ‘keen to point out that a Liverpool win could change the picture entirely’ for Rodgers, but FSG intend to ‘take stock of his three years in charge’ irrespective of the result, according to the Sun on Sunday.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman will be considered as a possible replacement for Rodgers, alongside Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp, the newspaper adds.

If Liverpool do decide to dispense of Rodgers’ services, he is apparently in line for a £7.3million pay-off.

If he has some dignity left in him, he should take a smaller compensation.

I remember when ManU sacked Moyes, he actually settle for a far smaller 5m than his contract allows him to. He was signed for 6 years, but got booted out in his first.
