Shocking!!

spoke to a guy was previously working as MI mechanic. He told me during 1K , 5K and 10K free servicing. when the supervisor check the engine oil which is deem (OK) and they actually never change the engine oil and oil filter. and passed them as newly changed!!!!

May be any bro can try to mark your oil filter with a silver marker pen and make sure after servicing at least they change the filter!!

Ex MI mechanic?...don't know why he left?

So must listen carefully hor....

Anyway, when you drive the car with the new oil, you will know the difference.

I also agree. I think the price point of the Forester is low enough for owners of sedan cars to cross over, so most of the FC discussion is from first time owners of SUVs. My previous SUV, a Murano, would be a huge guzzler compared to the Forester. I find there is a significant decrease in my fuel expenditure with the Forester.

Not a straight comparison... the Murano was a 3.5L - sure gas guzzler...

Noted. I was not really trying to make a straight comparison - just that expectations differs depending on the type car one has driven before. BTW my ex-Murano was 2.5L. The FC was affected more by the 4 AT which gives great low end torque but was a little inefficient when travelling at cruise speed compared to vehicles with more gear ratios.

Best for u to go back mi to check

I ever had my fuel tank indicator light up. Showed zero km to go.. drove another 30 to 40km. Pump 59.xx litres.

The fuel tank should be slightly more than 60l for reserves

I had the same experience when it shows - km

pumped 57L.

Talking about maintenance, anyone bought the 2years-40km maintenance from Subaru? usually I would need 9 months to hit 10,000km and would usually do servicing at every 10,000km. anyone know if Motor Image is strict in terms of the expiry date? assuming I do my final Servicing (40k km) 6 months after the expiry of the 2 years, will they still fulfill the servicing?

yes, heavy FC - 8km per litre. Parts are expensive.

Boxy shape, boring design. CX5 and Harrier look more chio,

Toyota Altis better. Cheaper and it is a Toyota!

Seriously, u want cheaper fuel expenditure, cheaper parts, u aint ready for Subaru. No offence, I say sorry 1st

It's higher maintenance as compare to the usual Japanese brand. But it's consider vfm to similar spec conti car.

Consider a vezel, I think that's the lowest maintenance car ?

Power is not free. All powerful cars need to burn extra fuel. . And with more power there is higher wear and more parts replacement. If you want to save $$ then forget about powerful cars.

Having said that fxt is the best new bang for buck vehicle out there. You cannot get any new car cheaper for the same power.

What's the free 4 times leather seat maintenance package about? I keep forgetting to make an appointment. Wondering whether it's worth the time

Whether u buy fna or fxt, it really depend on how u drive and how much load u r carrying. If u worry too much about fc, actually there are other crossovers/SUV to consider which are known to have better fc, simply because those are much lighter and runs on fwd.

I'm at 30k plus km now, just did my 30k servicing Using the 1st of my 4 servicing from my 2 year maintenance package with mi. Brake pads seems like can easily last beyond 50k, battery, suspension etc all good. My fxt feels like a good reliable workhorse. I doubt I will be spending much outside of regular servicing.

Don't bother unless u got defects or a lot of spare time. U can grab a bottle of leather care for $10-20 and apply it on the leather seats yourself. I did that with armorall leather care. Bought at $9.9 during promo at giant.

You can also consider Nissan Qashqai, Mazda CX-3, Mitsubishi ASX as well. Depending on your budget.

I don't drive that fast (most of the time city, in reality all the time in the city), can't even cross 320KM on full tank. Maybe i really need to learn how to save petrol, but i am happy with the pick/speed/control.

But to other member Tehsusu, it is not going to be cheap unless you have more Highway in your traveling.

To think about that if i fill 58L and can only do 320km then does it mean i am doing like 5.5KM/liter, is it alright only for city driving [furious] ?
