S032032 1st Gear May 14, 2017 Share May 14, 2017 I was reading some comments made in the Mit Outlander Forum page. Apparently, all current Outlander models are out of stock and C&C has stopped importing the current models due to the Euro 6 emission standards requirement imposed by the Singapore Government for petrol engines starting from 1 Sep 2017. New Outlander models are expected to be announced sometime in Sept where the engines will be Euro 6 compliant. ( This is not referring to (VES) that will take place in Jan 2018 ). Net, all cars sold starting from 1 Sept 2017 will need to comply to Euro 6 emission standards for petrol vehicles. Does anyone know what is the current emission standards for the Forester models ? If not Eugo 6 compliant, will MI stop selling these models come 1st Sept ? You can also read the Straits Times article below for reference. http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/singapore-moves-to-euro-6-emissions-standards-from-sept-2017 ↡ Advertisement

Euro 6 came into force in EU from Sep 2014. Our XT should be euro 6 as well then since it is still the same SJ engine. http://www.nextgreencar.com/emissions/make-model/subaru/forester/

ChristopherChia 4th Gear May 16, 2017 Share May 16, 2017 Shocking!! spoke to a guy was previously working as MI mechanic. He told me during 1K , 5K and 10K free servicing. when the supervisor check the engine oil which is deem (OK) and they actually never change the engine oil and oil filter. and passed them as newly changed!!!! May be any bro can try to mark your oil filter with a silver marker pen and make sure after servicing at least they change the filter!! wah paing, really shocking to hear this. I will try some kind of marking when I send in for 1st servicing.

Carhorn 5th Gear May 17, 2017 Share May 17, 2017 He says, she says, they say, we say, u say, i say. But who confirm? Pull out the dipstick before and after servicing to check colour of engine oil as previous post mentioned. Else u want to record down the s/n of ur engine oil filter? When I did the first oil change with shell eo at 5k, I hardly felt any different. Was thinking if they actually changed the oil... buy after switched to motul from 10k onwards, I'm definitely sure they changed the oil. It's too obvious. Recently they ask me do online survey and be rewarded with 1000 duo points. Actually Gave them good feedback. Haven encountered bad experiences with either Tpy or Leng kee branch so far. It3718 Clutched May 17, 2017 Share May 17, 2017 Hi guys just to share my experience on the Subaru Forester XT fuel thing. Yesterday while driving, only left 1 Bar on the fuel indicator with remaining 80km to Refill Display (Under the MU Display) I thought still can tahan the car to drive to back home from Admiralty to Balestier. However after driving for for around 8km the fuel bar no more and the 80km become 60km. (I was thinking still can tahan me to my petrol station) However after driving in SLE (before the TPE exit) shit.., the vehicle suddenly no power, VSC off, hill assist light up, engine light up (jialak) slowiy filter out to the road shoulder with my car backside sticking out to the left most lane. Fuel MU Display 40km. Big Shit... NO MORE FUEL. .. No choice have to call my tow truck to tow me back to my Balestier Petrol kiosk to top up fuel. Surprising when i topup the fuel with 2 to 3 tiak. the Fuel max is 52.671L Strange?? how come fuel capacity max 60L while i can max pump 52.671 only. Even more strange when. I compare to my previous fuel receipt (only 1bar fuel remaining) and ts 50.688L. 2L more difference cause the car cant move... Previously i driven other makes of car, even fuel light up can still tahan for at least 60km to refuel. But surprising XT fuel lightup within 20km no fuel. So morale of the storey is, dont wait for fuel light up and go refill (when its 2bars). If not you will need to get tow truck to tow you to the petrol kiosk. (p.s. When fuel light up, i was driving 70km/h not revving past 2000rpm)

It's really surprising that the XT's fuel monitor isn't more conservative (i.e. showing empty but still having some spare). I've only hit 1 bar left on the fuel gauge, never really tried to leave it further. My experience with other cars tend to be that even with the low fuel light up, we'll still be able to get 10-20 km at least.

In short your ECU will be Haywire... BUT ... Next Morning when you restart the car, everything will be back to normal. (p.s Anyway my next servicing will go for ECU reflash again. Just to make sure its really normal)

Pump 59.xx litres. The fuel tank should be slightly more than 60l for reserves
Maxim304 May 17, 2017 Share May 17, 2017 Is it normal for SE to collect full deposit even though COE has not been secured? MI missed out the 1st bid (11 May) by $3 for my FNA. Now, SE has collected full deposit as he mentioned the car is now in SG and need to settle the deposit so that MI can prepare the car? Is this the practice of MI? SE also mentioned that delivery of car will take about 3 weeks after securing COE. Is this true? Or my SE is smoking me tru?? ↡ Advertisement
