Only change BOV n breeze clamps. Before that max was 1.3bar

Hello Guys,

 

I just book my XT.

 

I understand that the Forester does not come with any car alarm. However it does come with the immobiliser.

 

I am interested to put in a car alarm as an added security function.

I was told with the car alarm installed, the auto lock function ( after you drive off ) will also be included.

 

MI will install the alarm for $360 to avoid the warranty issue.

 

If anyone has done this before can you share your experience please.

 

1. Do I have to carry an extra dongle to activate/deactivate the alarm ? Can the alarm function be integrated to the default dongle ?

2. Can the alarm be silence when we lock the car ? I was told by my SE I cannot do that. I come home sometimes after midnight, I do not wish to disturb the nearby neighbour.

3. Do you think it is worth to install.

 

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

If you kena bang from behind,... please feel free to choose any workshop EXCEPT going back to MI or ETHOZ.

MI don't give you courtesy car...and their repair quality...well.....  no comment.

My experience with Ethoz,... they cut corners,... (maybe to save insurers some dosh).

 

Check with your insurer,... any other workshop will do a decent job.

I asked for motul w30, dont have. Enduring w shell w30 but engine sounds loud n rough even immediately after servicing.

 

My ave FC after 20k km, ard 11kmltr

Yes. W40. U can feel a bit different after ur servicing, a bit smoother than before...Now always tend to step the paddle harder than before but hardly feel the jerk....

 

My FC listed is 8.5l/100km. 24k and going..

Well ..  I had done it with my FNA during Dec holidays

 

SIN - PEN - GENTING highland - SIN fully loaded 4 adult 3 big bags

 

with only me one driver -  Worst is big big traffic jam in IPOH cause by an oil tanker over turn along highway..  just after the IPOH tunnel..

took me almost 16 ~ 17 hours to reach Penang.. normally i need 9 hours to reach Penang

 

Ride perform very well on highway..  only when descending from Genting was shocking that the brake dun work well..  almost crash with a car in front of me

 

When descending long slopes you have to switch to manual mode and stay in gear 2 or 3 so that you don't overcook your brakes. That applies to all cars.

Hi... Just to share with you that I m driving a FNA too.. I was told by e TPY SA during my last serving that we can actually call about a week in advance to pre-order Motul W30... He claimed that they don't have Mirt W30 though... Thks :)
