Soya Supersonic April 27, 2017 Share April 27, 2017 Flushing engine in a young car is like popping supplements when one is already healthy. It's not necessary, but it makes the person feel good. And such expenditure props up the economy. Another cockanathan upsell by ADs is the "brake discs need to be replaced".....on a 2 yr old car. What a load of BS

Tohto Hypersonic April 28, 2017 Share April 28, 2017 Aiya! Too late for me. I just came back from 10K service, then read about this Engine Flush thing. I paid S$78 for the flush lor! I think they are on this Engine Flush $$$$ making Sxxm. HAHAHA. Anyone else were ask to do the flush within this months servicing ? Yah. 1 more thing is when I ask are they using 5W-30 ? They said yes, and ask me do I want to upgrade to 5W-40??? 5W-40 is upgrade meh?? 5W-40 is better than 5W-30 meh ? But I stay with 5W-30. FNA millage 10K , running on SPC95. 2 Year package 20K,30K,40K,50K package for FNA is S$1488 ( Can use Duo Point up to S$100 ). Insist to stay on 5W30. As printed on the Engine oil cap, Subaru had recommend to use 5W30.Why they want to use 5W40? Most likely they get the shell 5W40 at dirt cheap price. mrhan1982 4th Gear April 28, 2017 Share April 28, 2017 Hello, fellow victim. Actually for the money spent on flushing I should TOP up a bit more and do a oil change at outside workshop. Definitely better than domenfine flush Aiya! Too late for me. I just came back from 10K service, then read about this Engine Flush thing. I paid S$78 for the flush lor! shutterbox 3rd Gear April 28, 2017 Share April 28, 2017 On this engine flush topic, specifically for FXT: 1) when should engine flush be done? 2) what is the process and which qualified workshop can do this(assuming warranty over already)?

Flushing an engine at 10K km is absolutely unnecessary. If a new engine need engine flush at such an early stage then something is very wrong with that particular engine or the design. If any MI staff or management is reading this, beware the bad reputation your workshop is getting. Owners need to have trust and confidence with the workshop. Once that reputation is gone, it is very hard to get back. I am now becoming very vary of MI workshop and their practice. Maybe the next car I get will not be from them.
Kayaloti 2nd Gear April 28, 2017 Share April 28, 2017 Do MI have reputation? I really doubt so, I came back from accident repair from MI. They use old and broken parts, paint job below standard. Regretted going back there for the repair. Swear I will never step into MI workshop, didn't know they are so dark inside.
Poseidon 3rd Gear April 28, 2017 Share April 28, 2017 I tried to book my service online, can't even do so. Keep telling me my account is invalid. I tried registering as new user and also tried to reset my password, also to no avail. I also tried to register for my Duo account, also cannot. Motor Image really never fails to amaze me with their shitty after sales.

I totally agree with you. I own a 2009 Forester,... love my girl,...she has never let me down,... unlike MI service centre. Caught them twice doing monkey biz,.... and after that,... never went back. Left a really bad taste in my mouth. Not surprised they are still at it,... now that sales has gone up. There must be a law that warranty must be honored regardless whether service by AD or 3rd party. If owner can prove no modification done and regular service internal is done,.. Subaru must honor the warranty. This will give owners the confidence and MI to buck up. Now,... am thinking of changing my ride,... and this service and warranty thingy is having me think twice. Sad.
