Aiyoo, last week or over the weekends you should had book if you need the ride COE expected to increase due to Xmas/NY/CNY. Following weeks will have a Car Show and somewhere in Jan2017 will have another one. Plus the next COE bidding is 3 weeks apart so,,,,,,,

I'm waiting till all these are done and will plunge in 1st quarter of 2017, hoping/praying the demand will be slower thus COE will drop. lol

Bro if you are waiting for prices to drop, I think you may need to hold on until second quarter next year..

Too many events and people want their cars now..

Whatever deals you want now will be only poorer than the last few ones as the COE climbs up and demand is still increasing.

If you can hold on, good luck.. cheers

If I am going away for a 3 weeks holiday, is there is a need to disconnect the battery for a new Forester?

Actually he doesnt have to wait that long. Just buy during the CNY week of next year when most are busy celebrating their holiday

I would if i am away for more than 1 week. Rather play safe than to have to jump start.... anyway, remove 1 of the batt connection is enuff.

Happy holidays

End of the month or next week you should be able to get the car if ready stock... I gave up on the new civic cause of the wait too. 2ndly its too low... if vezel with that power, i might have gotten.. heheh.. or even now the new crv 1.5t is tempting..

Same here.  I booked a Crystal White Pearl FXT last Thurs and secured my COE today (1st bid).  Need a SUV as it is easier for my parents to get in and out.

I will miss my Mk5 GTI after driving for almost 10 years.

The Mk5 GTI is a good car... is real pity our COE cause this car to be scrapped. And I guess you bought your GTI 10yrs again almost same price as the FXT.

FXT will not have the handling of the GTI.

FNA driver here. No budget constraints (took the minimum $30k loan for 1 year as I calculated the discount outweighed the interest).

My wife has her Subaru 9 years+ already and its proven very reliable. I test drove the XV, Forester NA and XT. Didnt like the XV (Felt sluggish and the hatchback opening rather than full tailgate would not be good for my work) Drove the XT and liked it, drove the NA and liked it too.

Simple answer is on Singapore roads the NA performance is more than good enough. You are correct "FXT, its really good value for money for the bhp it offers" but the reality is you dont need that much BHP for everyday driving...

As my habit is to keep cars for at least 10 years and sometimes even longer, I would rather go with the cheaper purchase price, cheaper insurance, better fuel consumption and better reliability of not having a turbo to fail during year 5-7.... but to each their own :-)

Not that expensive to replace a failed turbo... If it really fails on year 5-7. Confirm much cheaper than replacing the hybrid car battery pack

err. ok with me leh. I drive the OB..so far happy with it..if you are referring to the eyesight.. no need la I already have eyesight.. [drivingcar]

I like the OB... Just that when I was looking at both FXT and OB, the price difference is $8k more for OB.. So definitely went for FXT. If the price difference is $1-3k, I would have went for OB 2.5na instead of FXT
