Need some advise from bros here.. Thinking of changing my wife car from a sedan to a cheaper suv and lesser power ... Our FXT is really nice to drive. But wife don't need the power and hence thinking of a less powerful suv. Any suggestion beside FNA? Qashqai is @ $103800 now.

Is qashqai drive similar to FNA?

Sedan price?

Then can recommend cheaper SUV :)

I still dunno how come nissan, which is 1 of the 1st company to jump in CVT, FC still lags behind toyota and honda...

Actually Subaru had been using CVT since the Justy in the early 80s when others were still using 4spd auto. They are the most experience in CVT.

Cannot press immediately after HU startup or bluetooth connection established.

The voice command startup is different from the HU startup.  After the HU startup or the bluetooth connection established, then the voice command will boot up.

Need to wait about 1 min. before the boot up is complete and you can press the button.

Then should work.

honestly, the qashqai drives like crap. sorry to say that but its my honest opinion. actually, i thought it drives quite ok initially until i experienced some power loss when accelerating from stop. It was quite shocking and made me panic for a while and i feedback to the SE who sat beside me. He just told me casually the turbo need some time to spool so initial acceleration no turbo yet???! Apparently, its a known problem and I saw from qashqai thread that they owners has since got it fixed. Other wise, the drive is quite comfortable with relatively soft suspension. The other thing is the power delivery. The 1.2T is quite erratic compared to the 2.0 which is very smooth. U need to anticipate the power if u r a new qq driver. Engine also sounded pretty rough when pushed a little (around 3k rpm). sometimes, it feels like its struggling pretty badly to keep up with traffic. Again, the owners have a fix for this. They install some gadget to boost acceleration.

On surface, the built quality looks good, but i experienced some rattling sound in the cabin during the test drive. Again, this was a known problem highlighted by some owners. Think can get it fixed by TC. The SE actually advised me to do soundproofing after getting the car??! The car body doesn't feel as rigid as i expected despite its made in the UK. I tot it might have some feel like a VW??

Boot is small and rear seats are cramp and my head is almost touching the roof. (i'm 1.72m btw...)

Price is attractive and design is nice. Spare parts and accessories are aplenty.

Respect... i gave up the FD 1.8 after driving for close to 2 years. Its was coming to 9 years when i sold it. the poor sound insulation and stiff suspension was driving me nutz....

Like not much choice.

Maybe should just let wife decide since she is driving :)

Current Forester drivers does anyone experience the radiator coolant level drop?

During my 5K servicing, I reported to the SA on the coolant level drop and after the servicing the report indicate the pressure was ok.

I monitor the coolant level again and just in a month plus I notice that the coolant level has drop 20cm from the after the servicing coolant level.

1) Coolant is design as a Close loop system.

2) Pressure test the system no sign of leakage.

3) External No sign of leakage.

4) Internal unable to verify.

5) Coolant evaporation unable to verify.

Any of the October 2015 Forester owner experience this unusual issues?

And what may have cause this coolant level drop?

Attach pictures of the coolant level after 5K servicing and 1 month later.

Hi guys, I'm planning to get a Forester XT.

I've heard that car phone doesn't show the contact's name, only shows the number.

Is this true?

Nothing to worry about as that is just an overflow tank; worry when it is dry. The radiator fluid expands and contracts which may account for the rise and fall of the level.

that's only 20mm or 2cm.

as abv mentioned, it's just the overflow tank.

nothing to worry abt now but good to keep an eye on it.

Thanks,

Both pictures coolant level was taken during the morning before engine warm up.

If only temperature hot it expand and cool it contract, the ideally explain within the

Close loop this should not have decrease to coolant level as it only flow in and out

between the radiator and the expansion tank.

Thanks,

It's 20cm decrease of coolant level, understand the expansion tank function.

But my concern was the difference in coolant level notice was before engine

warm up, so where those this coolant disappear to as it don't evaporate from

the expansion tank.

No amount of explanation can satisfy you if you've already convinced yourself that there's a problem, I guess. Edited by Macrosszero

When u buy a Subaru, and your service says it's ok, u just drive and drive and drive until u buy another Subaru and continue driving it again. Forester is a great reliable workhorse.

Any bro tried the motul racing 5w40 oil in their fxt? Can tell the diff between it and the shell helix 5w40? I'm 6k plus mileage and so far actually got used to the helix Liao.
