Tohto Hypersonic June 22, 2016 Share June 22, 2016 I very guai, all the way in I mode. I find I mode to be quite responsive before my 1k oil change. After they put in the stupid retarded Shell helix ultra 5w40, it became less responsive. 5k service i sure change engine oil. Anyone took the upgrade and take up their Motul racing oil? Is it 5w40 or 5w30? Just ask for and insist on 5W30 during your next oil change.

Why the price difference? Anyway, expensive, must still holes in my smooth bumper, so I dowan.
BrandonTan 1st Gear June 22, 2016 Share June 22, 2016 Some mentioned it's a safety feature. So that in the event of an accident or driver passed out with the engine still running, rescuers can open the door. What if the driver lock the door himself when he start the engine? Kinda hard to buy this safety theory.

razor54 3rd Gear June 23, 2016 Share June 23, 2016 What if the driver lock the door himself when he start the engine? Kinda hard to buy this safety theory. This is the 1st car I owned that doesn't auto lock itself. I guess somethings got to give in this feature. Some will like to have all doors lock for whatever reason (small children with wandering hands or driving in places where car jacking is common etc). So for whatever theory is behind this design, it does not matter. If it's important for you to keep it locked then you keep it locked. Just hope that there is someone with calmness of mind to know how to smash the window in the event the driver passes out in an emergency (eg. Car on fire after collision). I've also heard there are also designs where the car will auto unlock in the event of an accident. Too bad it's not available in this car.

This kind of auto-lock or not is really depends on your perspective... hahaha... my father's Fluence has auto-lock, but all passengers can just pull the door lever and unlock from inside - you can open the door from outside. But if the dash unlock button is pressed, you can open the door from outside. Apparently, the SE says this is the Euro safety standard with the door unlock button on the dash so that if the driver is incapacitated, anyone can reach for it to unlock the doors. My Sonata is a hydrid. It also has auto-lock - selectable to lock at above 20 kmh or shifting the gear lever. Front passengers can also open the door from inside but the rear passengers can't. The door unlock button is on the driver's door handle. Which also means if the driver is incapacitated, then someone needs the presence of mind to unlock the doors. My previous Impreza has this issue of not having an auto-lock feature. I thought it was cos my car was the basic car, I didn't know that even in the premium Forester XT also don't have? What about the Legacy? My understanding is that the Legacy is the flagship and has lots of features the other models don't have. Not sure if this is still like that now.

But if driving alone....then.... Anyway, it's never my perspective towards any locking system. This is my 6th car and all have different security systems for their own intended purposes. Some might prefer one system over another. But it's up to each driver's preference. Important is driving safe to whatever system that comes with the car. If not satisfied with the stock system, one can always 'upgrade' it to his/her preference.

razor54 3rd Gear June 23, 2016 Share June 23, 2016 True true but I always don't like to open up the car for surgery lar... ha ha...Same here...unless really necessary, I don't like any surgery on my car too, hahaha. Maybe age got to do with my thinking now. I remember my 1st and 2nd car modify here upgrade there...spent so much money. When the FXT had most of the things I wanted and needed without much changes to stock, I decided on it when my budget allows.
