Djcoolmax 2nd Gear May 26, 2016 Share May 26, 2016 To use the "cloud", you need to add a data device (from Blackvue) with "sim card with data plan", so that video files can be sent to the "cloud". Pro is that you can access video files remote. The con is that you need a data plan. Actually the device can be any mifi, doesn't have to be from BlackVue. BlackVue requirements is a Internet connection via Wifi. So if you have a spare phone that can enable tethering.. also can. Also Power Magic cuts off power before camera sucks it dry... can consider Cellink-B, which is like another set of batteries that BlackVue connects to. How this works is BlackVue is connect to Cellink-B and the car charges that battery when on the move. Celllink-B batt dead, BlackVue cannot record. Engine start.. charging starts and Blackvue working again. ↡ Advertisement

Engine start.. charging starts and Blackvue working again. How to get the cellink B setup done? Some options I thought were : OPTION 1)Ask MI do but without Powermagic Pro. MI I believe will connect the BV to the fuse box at driver seat and conceal all the wires swee swee. Then get 3rd party to install Cellink B by disconnecting BV power cable from fuse and attach to Cellink B below driver seat. Cellink B connect to 12v outlet in armrest. Alternatively connect to fuse. Questions a) Will there be sufficient length cable for 3rd party to run BV power cable to Cellink B under driver seat? Can MI bundle excess length if cable to fuse is too long and 3rd party unbundle later? b) Will disconnecting BV power cable from fuse or connecting Cellink to fuse for power make MI say affect warranty? OPTION 2) Ask 3rd party to install BV and Cellink B. Question : Will there be further warranty issues now for fitting the BV by 3rd party which involve tucking cables around the gasket etc. All this running in my head... Axela72 5th Gear May 26, 2016 Share May 26, 2016 (edited) Why don't u ask MI directly? If someone here told u it won't void warranty, do u believe? i ask MI whether can I change the horn outside during servicing, they straight off told me void related warranty. They offer me better horn which is the one use in Legacy but I have to pay them like $150 or $200 (cant remember) for this upgrade. Note: Even change rim from outside (except at Stamford tyre?) also void warranty. If you worried about voiding warranty like me, don't ever think of changing/adding anything (except aesthetic) that is not done by MI. If they void your electrical warranty based on the changes you intend to do, good luck.... How to get the cellink B setup done? Icecube187 2nd Gear May 26, 2016 Share May 26, 2016 simplest option is to get your SE throw in BV front and rear free and you top up $90 for PMP. All done by MI, any issues with the BV also settled by MI.

SE says my questions too technical for him. My logic is that if I plug BV to Cellink and Cellink to 12v outlet i am not messing around with anything. Unless there are restrictions on what can be plugged into the 12v outlet.

I don't think the resale value will vary vary much between the 2 cars. Nowadays, Korean cars are also well made with lots of bells and whistles. Apart from the things you like abt the Tucson, I do find the Tucson looks nicer and more modern. And that's my honest opinion though I own a forester XT. For me, the engine of a car is the most impt thing so the FXT wins hands down. Since you have already narrowed down to the 2 cars, buy with your heart and don't try to rationalise too much. Either choice makes a great car Edited May 26, 2016 by Jamesgetz

Tuscon also have blind spot monitoring, front and rear sensors, auto-hold function (*for the more expensive model), sunroof* with auto shutter (not like Forester manual shutter), anti-glare rearview mirrors. all in all not shabby and sound insulation sounds decent too... EricTan_148449 Clutched May 26, 2016 Share May 26, 2016 Another check... Do you like sushi more than Kimchi? Definitely sushi brother Tuscon also have blind spot monitoring, front and rear sensors, auto-hold function (*for the more expensive model), sunroof* with auto shutter (not like Forester manual shutter), anti-glare rearview mirrors. Yes brother all in engine quiet . Both I like but forester I like cause never drive a boxer engine all wheel drive . Except the design is abit old fashion . I was comparing between the sunroof and XT all in all not shabby and sound insulation sounds decent too...
