Hi, have been considering Forester NA for awhile.

Apart from the price quoted, what are the common items to ask or can be expected from SE?

So far been quoted 3 free servicing 1k, 5k, 10k and floor mats.

Hi there

I bought the FNA from Jass Chan. She is patient and not pushy. We went through 4 models and 2 variants of forester before I signed the dotted line. PM me if you need her contact.

Happy buying!

Hi Bro, is $120.6 before or after you trade in your car ?

Hi Twincharge,

No trade in. MI trade in price lousy.

So if u would have bought the xt alone, price will be how much?

Should be $121.

The FXT main flaw to me is that it does not come with an Outback body, trims, wheels and the rest....

U r absolutely right bro. The outback is more attractive in terms of design and it has a more luxurious interior. I don't understand y they dun put the FXT engine in it. The 2.5L engine is a huge turn off to most singaporeans due to the high road tax. FC wise also not so good. The outback for me unfortunately is also a little too big for parking into our small multistorey mall carparks and parallel parking.

Road tax extra $600 a year ..turnoff not really la. FC - I average 12km/l on it. Small mall car park.. So far so good. It's the big mall car park that I worry about... Parallel parking.. 9 out 10 Sporean Drivers can't parallel park anyway.. Edited by BenTong

Actually the 2.5L road tax is not that much more than the 2L. IRC, it's about $400-500 which is quite little compared to the overall cost of the car, insurance, petrol, etc.

Personally, I don't find the outback design that great. The interior does feel more luxurious but the exterior just looks and feels too big and long. The biggest deal breaker is the 2.5L engine which is underpowered for a car of this size.

Furthermore, I'm not sure Subaru has resolved the oil consumption issue:

Supposed to be resolved.  Also for Singapore's Subaru models, hard to find mention of this issue - not for current cars or cars from that period.  Searched high and low in the sgcarmart forums and cannot find any one with this problem.

Maybe the problem cars were made in US rather than Japan or somehow different from the Singapore models.

New Forester buyer's initial comments:

Just Switched from my previous 1.6L japanese sedan (110 BHP) to Forester 2.0I premium. I traded-in my old car at MI and collected my new car on 21.05.2016.

Everything regarding this transaction went ideally smooth, with good trade-in price. SE Kevin was more than helpful and he could satisfactorily reply all the questions of a fussy buyer like me.

I have already driven 300 km so far. Regarding power, anyone switching over from 1.6L sedan, will feel a huge difference. Loving every moment driving it.

Will update FC after 3 consuming 3 full tanks.
