I think jap cars se dont have the process of letting you sit in a nice cozy room to collect your car.

Bmw se will let you collect car in a car collection room. Go through all the features of the car again. Explain where are the handbook kept.

I believe Lexus has such facility...so it is not whether Japanese brands have or not...just the $$$ of the car you are paying.   [:)]

Dono why seldom see SL car plate on the road? I tght alot of ppl scrap car and get a new car liao.

I have seen quite a bit with SLA as well.

To all Bros that have gotten their rides, at the point of car collection,

- What is the usual reading on the odometer?

- Fuel tank at 1 bar?

- 2 key fob with 2 key pouch given?

- Does SE advise any run-in/break-in measures in detail?

- Any systematic checking of car to observe?

- Whole process takes how long?

Just would like to know the whole experience while being in check that we do not miss out anything, i guess everyone would be elated so much until they forget something.

My Outback collection,

- Mine about 60km

- 3 bars

- Yup

- Was told 1k km run-in by SE, but manual says 1k miles, service guy told me 10k km. I follow manual.

- There is new car collection check list in the forum. SE also bring a copy of his version.

- 1 to 2 hours max.

The experience isn't bad, quite happy with my SE. Most importantly don't rush and go through ur checklist to make sure you left the vicinity without doubt.

They only give 2 bar fuel

When I collect car is 9km they only give 1 key pouch.

My se ask me don over to 5k rpm... But can go up to 100km

When I collect car I just walk around and find and spot or problem.

I plan run in to 10km rpm

Ya, that is the same thing told by the SE serving me today. The increase will start from 12pm tomorrow, so keep asking to consider and let him have the reply by tomorrow before noon.

I curious check price of xt still the same today leh. Can announce ur SE here for us to take note?

Price cannot change so fast. Usually it is at least a full week after initially set which was last Thursday. It is not like as if there is a sudden huge demand to force MI to increase just 5 days after the last readjustment. If anything the demand must have weakened compared to last round. Basically SEs cannot be trusted and buyers hopefully can analyse better not to fall for such tricks.

Mine was 8km. Think the Fuel tank at collection was abt 3 bar. I got the 2 Key fob but not the 2 key pouch.

No. But Engine Run-in Procedure on Page 8-2 under "8. Driving Tips"

http://www.subaru.com/owners/vehicle-resources.html?modelCode=2016-FOR-GFN

I only checked for damage to paintwork, glass and under carriage, and also drive it around the MI carpark.

Took about an hour.

especially for the XT, usually not advisable to rev hard until 1st servicing and engine oil change then. probably just 3 weeks?

just take it as getting used to the quite fast acceleration in I-mode for this period until you are familiar with your car, especially if your previous rides were never this high power. I find throttle control quite challenging even during test drive, considering I am driving a Legacy GT.

there is one school of thought that says break in engine hard, but many others against it.

Just tested and confirmed this issue on my FXT2.0 2016 Model. Issue is present as long as need to reverse upslope.

http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f102/reverse-cvt-appears-unusable-off-road-493593/

Make sure you *never* ever need to reverse up a slope (e.g. don't ever park on a slope facing down)

Don't quite understand the problem. Can u elaborate more. Seems like there is no power to reverse over obstacle eg road curb ?

From your linked forum, most people mentioned they are not affected.

Any PI selling the NA ?

Read about 80-90% American where this car is so popular gets the NA.

Why do we need 240 HP on Singapore road.

Because we have higher speed expressways. Our petrol cost is lower...or our traffic Police or rules are not strict...

Or is this an ego face value thingy ? Is Singapore road a race track ? You will probably have average speed of 40km/hr...

Sone cars have turbo for fuel efficiency and to meet strict emission standards. This one we are taxed for higher emission.

Where is the sense of this ?

I don't think anyone will complain they got too much money. Just like I never hear people complain their car too powerful, only heard of car being underpowered.

240bhp too much in Singapore? Clearly you haven't driven a 240bhp car to know know it can benefit in SG roads. Its 240bhp, not 240km/h.

Ego and face? If this is a Golf GTI thread then maybe, but We are talking about Subarus here and its not even the rex. Old folks see Subaru lower than Toyota and only knows merc and BMW. What face?

Its not about racing, or race track. It a the driving experience. But seeing how you put your thoughts to words....nah! Don t think you will get it.

I come from an XV which does have TPMS.

I would guess XT would have.

However, Subaru TPMS only gives light symbol warning and sound warning of low tire pressure - does not show actual pressure.

Was good enough for me. Made me aware of a very slow leaking tire nail puncture before I realised it myself and while car handling still seemed normal.

Check the car manual. If you see there is such a low tire pressure warning signal for local XT, then that is the TPMS.

There are options found in XV not in Forester. TPMS is one, the other is the ability to off front passenger airbag if a child is detected in front.

That's why Forester OMV so cheap.

I tot he own a car already. Ok point noted.

Do you have more information regarding this child passenger thing? Not aware of this on the XV, but was told by my QQ SE during test drive that it will turn off if the weight is <3kg, is it the same for XV too?

The discussion is about balance and practicality. Not more is best which is commonsense.

Your comment on whether I am car owner is biased and pointless.

You having a car or not is not I say one. I not judgemental on that BTW.:D

I'm just replying based on your comments. If you read back your comments are also portrait a generally misconception and biased against higher powered cars.

Anyway no malice here, its all discussion!
