@Sarion oops ... indeed dumb design and sorry to hear.

Yes, I had seen several car there totally stripped of dashboard, writing etc. and amazed that it only cost 1k for such intense worth ... if any consolation, many other car brand/model and not only XV.

Cheers.

My previous BMW 320i the cooling coil was behind the whole dash board.

I was so amazed they remove the entired dash board to change it. There were so many wires there and steering wheel also removed. Send car there when they open and everything done end of the day. Very labour intensive.

The lock sensor on the my door handle sometimes working, sometimes not.  Could it be due to weak battery?  Is there a separate battery for the door handle that I can replace?  Now I have to use the car remote to lock the car.

Can do this to check: Are both the front door lock sensor behaving the same. Note there is also a sensor on the front passenger door as well.

Could be due to dirt on the sensor. Try cleaning it. In another forum, someone suggested using the back the the hand, instead of using the finger or thumb, to activate the lock and said it works every time.

Not sure if any of the above helps but no harm trying.

@milynot   Oops ... seems I am not the only one .. intermittently not working 2 mths ago on driver side and finally 100% not working 1 mth ago but ok now for last 2 weeks.

Indeed inconvenient and frustrating since all of us spoilt leh with modern tech and hope mine just went for vacation after working hard for last 5 yrs@104k km and now well rested to remain working 😅🤞🤞

Cheers.

@kermitfm I rarely use the passenger side.  Somehow it behaves the same.  I thought we need to touch the stripes?  How to use the back of the of the hand?  Or I have been touching the wrong place?🤣

@richard_crl032 Like you, somehow, it starts to work better from yesterday.   Not sure is it due to dirt on the handle.  Though I didn't specially clean it.

Bring your key fob near the door and see if it works.

Sometime we keep the key fob in our bag or pocket and something block the transmission.

Can also be keyfob battery is getting weak, need to replace the button battery.

Ya. If put the fob together with your phone likely wont work. So my car fob is always in a separate pocket.

Neutral Newbie

Hi all, anyone here running on tein flex z coilovers? Any feedback? Have been religiously reading the inputs by members here, especially Richard’s experiences with the swift springs. Looking for the perspective of coilover owners before making a decision. :)

Hi not sure what you want to know. I had the Tein flex Z before. From Stock suspension to Tein Flex Z you can immediately feel road holding more planted. Some who tested different brands would say Flex Z is a tad softer than others. I did not lower down too much in order to clear the curbs so never tested with it is even more stable if lowered. It has 28 clicks adjustment but in my opinion I can only accept adjustment between 23-25 clicks to stiffness. any adjustment below 23 will be too soft and bouncy for street driving(drive to Genting eg.) More than 26 will be too harsh therefore basically there is not much you can adjust. However, working with EDFC could improve this situation.

However, I still feel coliover belongs to the racing circuit and not for street use because there are uneven roads which makes me feel uncomfortable especially on longer trips. Tein Endurapro plus with swift springs are best for comfort and still some level of control.

in fact comfort level is subjective, maybe I just cannot accept coilover type of harshness. Hope you get something you like.

@Fumio74

I still can recall decade ago when workshop tells me that coilover can be adjusted to be soft and comfy like stock ones but you had best summarise it:

However, I am also all for comfort with some handling improvement and not going Sepang circuit.

Cheers.

@Ixat Hi, endura pro pls from bks or st power but unfortunately, swift springs had been discontinued and no longer available from my previous ebay seller .. can only try to google and reach out to some usa stores that hopefully still hv them.

Sti pink spring work but I am anal and finds that they jitters .. rest your head on headrest and there is this slight but obvious jittering to me.

However, advantage is that pink springs do not lower as much as swift, rsr etc. and you can avoid more $ of another 450-550 adjustable rear camber arm to get back to spec. to avoid handling and prematured tyres wear off.

Sorry for being unable to help further.

Cheers.

@Ixat Hi, cool and yes, I did change out all. Pls ensure workshop fixing pink springs include garden hose to avoid noise .. they should be aware if installed them before.

Cheers.

PS: Available used pink on carousell and should not matter cos little wear to affect performance but 1/2 $ from new ones

@richard_crl032 the garden hose sits on top and bottom of the springs to dampen out any noise?

The set from Carousell is for NA, understand FXT has another part number for the sti pinks?

@Ixat

Oops .. yes, different part nos.

Fxt: Item number: ST20330SF000 Front x 2
Item number: ST20380SF000 Rear x 2

Fna: Item number: ST20330SF010 For front x 2
Item number: ST20380SF010 For rear x 2

Cannot remember garden hose only bottom or both ends but maybe someone here can advise but workshops like BKS, BMS, SKM etc. should know.

Cheers.
