Anyone has issue with connecting Bluetooth audio and calls from Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra?   Apparently it's a problem  discussed in reddit but no solution. I'm having the same issue.

No. My phone is connected.

Anyone replaced their SJ FNA rear suspension strut or what they claimed as the shock absorber? There's an oil leak on mine and I was quoted 1.6k to replace both (rear) in one of the commonly mentioned workshop here. I did a quick search and found Subarupart Plus selling the Suspension Strut (Subaru 20365SG010) at $155.82 (USD), excluding dust cover etc. (https://www.subarupartsplus.com/oem-parts/subaru-suspension-strut-20365sg010?c=bD0xMCZuPUR5bmFtaWMgU0VPIFBhZ2U%3D). The local price markup here to me is ridiculous. They suggested to replace with XT strut (~$500), which is much "thinner" compare to the SJ FNA and I'm thinking probably won't get the same comfort experience. Any recommendations or thoughts if I should go aftermarket?

SJ FNA rear shocks have self-leveling feature which FXT do not have. This feature will make the shocks more expensive. A good gauge of the pricing is to go to MotorImage and asked for a quotation.

There are lots of factors which makes the local price ridiculous compared to the price online.

You are always welcome to buy the parts online and get them installed locally.

I am not surprised that you can still get savings if you are buying a car part from an USA website, get it shipped to Singapore and installed locally.

I just read about the self/auto/load leveling shocks. I wonder if I replaced the rear with XT shocks, would the ride feels very different as compare to now. That's probably the cheapest at around $500+. Any opinion for aftermarket shocks? How much would it costs? My car left a few more years but I'm thinking if I should replace all the 4 shocks including the front and can probably consider renewing the COE if there's no major issue with the car for the next few years.

Is it worth extending coe?

For me, it depends on the COE.

I like the Forester size so another option for me is to get the current new Forester is 174k, but I'm not sure how is the maintenance like with hybrid.

Hi Falcon, I am driving the e-boxer for about 4 years now. I think this is the first version and it did not come with Apple Carplay. I upgraded the head unit and that's all I have done. My previous model was the previous version, I think the FNA SJ.  I find the eboxer has more power (more pull) maybe because of the added battery output. If I put it on Sports mode, it pulls even stronGER. Caveat - I am a 'gentle' driver so I don't normally push the car very hard. I noticed that high speed cruising is better.  I love the adaptive cruise control and used it a lot when on Malaysian highway. The only downside is the very small petrol tank capacity. I think the gauge will hit 1/4 after about 400 km (or less). As a comparision, I can get to KL using slightly 1/2 tank. On the eboxer, I will reach KL on 3/4 tank.

Of course the mileage is better. I was doing 10 litre /  100 km in the SJ while in the SK, it is about 8 litre / 100km.

The lead -acid batteries (not the hybrid battery) seems to have short live. I have changed the main battery and the stop start once each and the I think I may need to change the stop start battery again soon.

Overall, I am happy with this model. Better than the SJ which have no adaptive cruise and no iSight. Happy to answer any question you may have.

Hi @kermitfm

Can you share the maintenance/running cost for the current e-boxer hybrid? Does it has the common aircon issue like the SJ? Can outside workshop service the e-boxer hybrid?

I bought my SJ FNA at 93k back in 2018 and I think it is a very good price. I don't know if I should wait for another few years then start looking out or get the current e-boxer at 174k.

TIA.

@Meepok Approaching the end of 4th year. No maintenance issues except for the batteries (not the main battery). There are 2 Lead-Acid batteries in the hybrid. I have changed the main and aux batteries once each, and I think one of them is due for changing. The car is maintained by MI. I think the price is higher than 3rd party garages and may not be necessary but all my cars that I own have been maintained by the AD so it is just my preference. As mentioned in my previous post, my main gripe is the small gas tank which requires me to refuel every week.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that as the car ages, problems may pop out.

@Meepok I replaced my SJNA shocks with FXT. No issue, ride rather felt the same.

I got screwed over by a famous workshop in woodlands, yr 5 changed all original shocks, by yr 6 both front fail, yr 7 both rear fail..  the workshop mixed Forester and XV shocks that's why I kept hearing creaking sounds for many mths.... Subaru specialist indeed .. went to BMS to get all sorted out with another 4figure loss.

Oh man. How did you figured out that they used a mix of Forester and XV shocks?

Btw, did you go to BMS AMK or wooldland?

Normally famous means BKS or BMS but woodlands is also DM. But BKS should be admiralty? Lol. Since he go BMS to sort out means BMS informed him of the mix 😆

Make sense, probably BMS informed him about the mix of shocks.

@Stewart_ngNSHW 160-170kmh constant, occasional pull to 200. I'm doing 84-87 on the EO during midday and 80-83 during midnight. Singapore driving 75. Stuck in 2-3 hour jam 87-89.
I had the items below for cooling.

1. Dual Core Alu Radiator

2. Low Temp Thermostat

3. TCL Competition Coolant

4. EO Cooler

5. Compressive Tuning Airblades

now... problem is... the car will take much longer to warm up to optimum running temps.

Anyone have experience fixing the engine oil leak at the 2nd layer for Forester SK? Was quoted 6k+ by Leng Kee.
