Kangadrool Supersonic April 29, 2017 Share April 29, 2017 (edited) no need at all. If you want to flush, use mineral/semi-syn oil run for 1K mileage, drain and refill again, repeating it 2 or 3 times. Then, put in fresh full syn oil again. Before you ask whether mineral oil can be used for my Subaru engine... Some established mineral engine oils are quite good and it's not any cheaper than Mickey Mouse brand full syn oil. Scared? Use cheap Turtle or Carlube oil as "flushing" oil. On this engine flush topic, specifically for FXT: 1) when should engine flush be done? 2) what is the process and which qualified workshop can do this(assuming warranty over already)? wpy 4th Gear April 29, 2017 Share April 29, 2017 Fellow Forester owners, Would like to seek your advice regarding the time when I should send the car to the workshop for its 1000 km servicing. Due to work commitments, I can only send the car for servicing on Tuesdays. If I were to go to the workshop next Tuesday, 2 May, the mileage would probably be about 800 km. However, if I were to send it in one week later, 9 May, the mileage would have surpassed the 1K mark at 1200 km (assuming an average mileage of 400 km per week). Which date is recommended? Thanks in advance. Sent mine in at 1250km. No issue

SE say 1 month has to do but my car 1 month mileage i think 500k only.Your bigger problem will be on 10,000km or 6 months servicing interval. You will only hit 3000km based on your travel pattern. I suggest to hit outdoor often to enjoy the ride and take long route for your regular journeys.
Tonygoh19 1st Gear April 29, 2017 Share April 29, 2017 Could I check for AWD when one or two front wheels wear out (after few months) or tyre puncture all four wheels must be changed at the same time, or can rotate and use back the other wheels like non awd cars? If you rotate the tyre regularly at 10k, this will not happen. Tyre rotation only cost $20.
Kayaloti 2nd Gear April 30, 2017 Share April 30, 2017 are you serious? Old & broken parts from accident repair claim? Can to share more? This sounds very serious. Yes, positive.Took a picture of the broken part they use on my bumper, sent them nasty email and request explanation. Not a single word and just called me and had it replaced the next day. Now my tail light also not secured properly and move in and out when push it. Again, I suspected they used broken part that's why can't secure the tail light properly. Send them nasty email again and till today no news and reply. If you thinking of going mi for repair, think hard. If you think they always use new parts, think harder.

In many country, Forester are market as a SUV that is suitable for owner that had active lifestyle, can go some dirt track easily. Even in China. But here the Ah Meng boss ad is really a failure.

When I requested for it, I was told by e SA that they only have Motul 5W-30... Thks! :)Thats odd. Every servicing i ask for motul or mirt w30, and LK always say don't have. Only for w40 hv.Apparently they stock up lotsa of 5w40 motul and mirt oil due to lower cost and try to push it to their customers. For fxt, the motul 5w40 works fine. Fc is good too. No harm using. Actually their TOP up price for motul is very reasonable st 70+, considering how much this oil cost outside... anyway, these are racing oil, if not driving hard, actually no need to use these. I use it as regular street oil. Only change at 10k Edited April 30, 2017 by mrhan1982
