Turbocharged

Been driving almost 2 months. Trips mainly non expressway. Only 13L/100km on readout. Pumping 95. Mix drivng on I and S mode.

I realized I will get 13 to 14L/100km when I do the following:

- Driving less than 20mins per trip

- No Highway driving, that's 100% urban.

- Idle for more than 30mins

- Hit traffic light every 1 to 2 minutes.

- heavy footed on pedal.

This kind of driving pattern only Hybrid can help save FC, but also got limit.

Maybe stay at I mode and pump RON 98 might help abit. (yes, proven RON98 give better FC and unlock all 240ps of your Forester XT)

I also asked , answer is no.

May be can get your own parts. If you open up the cosmetic panel you may find many un-connected wiring.

I read somewhere most car came with all the wiring install, you just need to get the right parts, which is the hydraulic arm, the sensor, the open/close button next to dashboard and on the tailgate,+++ etc.

By the time that you are done, you might as well have just bought the XT model in the first place, and gotten the turbocharged motor for free.

My OC allowed me to buy FXT over NA was due to auto tailgate

Mine allowed me to buy fxt because I told her she can reach her destinations faster (if given clear traffic) and also the hk sound system.

Describes how wife and I drive except for the idling of 30 mins.

Car is mainly for wife to ferry children to and from school and tuition which is about 15 min drive. Traffic lights all the way.

I drive on weekends usually in similar traffic. I came from a 1.6L manual and drive to maximise acceleration and optimise gears, so maybe heavy footed habit?

Dont think increasing Octane to 98 will do much.

My expectation? Well no complaints and happy. Saw it coming. About $220 to $250 petrol a month.

Looking at your spending on petrol per month, your mileage is very low. So no worry, just enjoy the power from your FXT.

I had test 3 tank of 95 and confirm that 98 give me better FC, plus the butt feel smoothness and more on 98. I will continue to use 98.

This had been confirme by some bros that had did a dyno. The results confirm 98 give at least 20wheel hp compare to 95. Not surprise since Subaru may had tuned the engine performance base on 98

I think tuning alone without any hardware changes will probably squeeze out another 20-30hp and 40-50nm of torque.

270hp with 400nm of torque will be sweet to drive.

If 300hp with about 450nm.. needless to say.

Shiok shiok..

Anyone knows if we can top up to get an electric tailgate for the NA version during one of the regular servicing? If so, how much?

Top up 13K to get the FXT?

I realise longer distance without stopping much will improve fc

Try using cruise control on highway.  Works like a dream and improve FC.

only used once in NSHW.

Singapore road/highway, no point to me (personal opinion :) )

If i can get an additional XT just by topping up $13K, that will be an extremely good deal! Hahaa..

You also encountered bad driving experiences with black Vezels? I met 2 black Vezels on 2 separate occasions.

I don't even know that they want. More like they trying to test my patience. Cutting lane in a reckless manner and edging me from the side. I can't be bothered with them, even knowing a little tap on my accelerator is enough to blow them away. I got better things to do than entertain them. My family more important.

Ya. Alot of young dude drive vezel like sports car. Today i was 90km/h on AYE, a white vezel close up on me and high beam me

Tu lan, i just accelerate, and he never managed catch up on me

Btw i drive a 07 C4 :p

Sometimes, this young dude just want to fun of it, but when accident happens they are just causing misery to other ppl

Were you on the right most lane?

Ok ok.... Before this thread deviates into a traffic rules argument, let's stir the topic back to Foresters...

Want to talk about traffic rules and ethics I believe there is already another hot thread on it...

Shiok shiok..

Most of the time I think I only use up to 300nm torque for moving off since I step till around 2k and max torque (350nm) comes at 2.4k rpm. Very seldom need to rev beyond 2.5k until I try to Siam those vezels and people who try to be funny with me ha. This morning I saw a black harrier but mistook for vezel. Got me worried that I was right beside it. Traffic light turn green I zhao Liao.then thinking back, it was a Toyota logo and not the H logo. Edited by mrhan1982
