Thanks bro. Guess there is not much interest from this group on accessories. By the way, do you know what is the engine code or type code for 2016 FXT? is it FJ, EJ or SG??

Its a FA20 engine; 4 cylinder turbocharged boxer engine..

FXT - Direct Injection engine (same construction as BRZ, I believe)

FNA - (normal) sequential multiport injection engine.

Today saw a fellow white txt with black grille and rear under spoiler. Still considering to get front lip and rear under spoiler or not... Can this be purchase locally?

Seems like the engine oil MI uses for 1k servicing is quite inferior, can feels the difference as the mileage approaches 5k.

its the bloody shell helix ultra.... response is noticeably worse than the default eo before 1k service. i'm gonna try their Motul oil at 5k. now 4k plus. Loon a bit to 5k.

Agreed, shell helix ultra is so much inferior than the default EO. Subaru makes good car, unfortunately MI didn't capitalized on its engineering merits and safety features but gives us shoddy servicing and restrictive warrenty.

STi front lip and rear under spoiler can be bought from japanparts.com.

So far, only rear under spoiler got replica version and it's by kakumei which is a Taiwanese company. Order from eBay.com. Search for "forester rear under spoiler". Quality is pretty good and half the price of the original one

1 mth into FXT ownership. Got 2 questions on the solar film done by MI:

1) just saw what looks like a small air bubble on the inside. Is this the norm to have such imperfections?...I mean it is a big piece of film, unavoidable? Its livable with it, but sometimes I notice it, like eye floaters.

2) if next time more bubbles appear and I want to upgrade to a better film, does the IU and dashcam have to be removed? It looks like they have to to me..Is a replacement sticky pad or something needed for them...dont even know if there are replacements..

Is it just one bubble and how big is it? mine also has a few but very small and at the corner so hardly noticeable. windscreen film is the hardest to get it perfect becos it's huge and curvy. If you replace it, u may end up with bubble(s) else where... And windscreen gets dirty really fast

Yes, both need to remove. Dashcam should be using 3M doublesided tape. For IU, I recall it's a translucent gluey material which is surprisingly strong and reusable if LTA hasn't changed what they use. For my previous car, the IU fell off and I just stuck it back. Anyway, the window film installer will take care of these when they change the film so no need to worry
