My experience driving FXT on NSH is that when the FC in S-mode stopped getting better, switching to S# allowed for slightly improved FC. Likely due to the 8-speed.

 

My general experience so far is that better FC is achieved when driving 90 km/h, best trip clocked 6.5 l/100 km. When driving at 80 km/h, best FC is in 7+ l/100 km. When stuck in a jam, 2-hours at immigration, the FC is at a boggling 50+ l/100 km. This car likes to move. Even moving slowly on peak hour PIE/AYE, no matter how slow as long as it is moving, it is still possible to get 8+ l/100 km. So far, on expressways, difference in FC between I mode and S mode is not discernible. Relaxed v spirited driving does not make much difference also.

 

Non-expressway drives range from @ 11 a 15 l/100 km, again depends on how long the car is not moving. Spirited driving makes a significant difference here (eg., needlessly racing to the next traffic light; overtaking just to slow down in 100m etc).

 

Mixed drives, as long as there is an expressway involved (that moves), FC is always less than 10 l/100km.

 

Overall average is currently 9.8 l/100km.

 

The advice given at the new owners' workshop is that the average for all Subaru vehicles is 9.8 km/l (same as my experience - but note the change from l/100 km to km/l)). It does not matter (surprise!) whether turbo or NA. I assume this is taken from data extracted from vehicles when sent in to the workshop. Also, for FC, the advise given is that the best is achieved when the car is driven between 90-110 km/h (same as my experience); S# should be used in NSH (same as my experience); (surprise!) S-mode for Singapore expressways (experimenting); and I-mode for start-stop city traffic.

That's pretty bad. My previous outback NA 3.0 I got 9km/l for the similar situation. I used 95 Caltex.

And I thought that was bad

You are kidding right? Your hypermiling skills must be top notch. Cause I never heard that kind of figure for this kind of engine with these factors before. Edited by GLZT

Hi, any bro here managed to check whether the door glass on FL version thicker than the pre FL version?

No point ask any of the SE, because they know nothing except the lists of cosmetic change they have.

SE say it is thicker. 5mm thicker glass.

The lack of confidence in what SẼ/AD says is a mark of poor customer service in the local auto industry. SẼ is trained by AD.

 

Hope there is a regional manufacturer office that can provide some kinda of oversight on local AD.

On NSH, how is FXT when cruising 140-160km/hr ? Bumpy ?

Congrats! Does it get "Active Torque Vectoring" and improved suspension, are you able to tell the difference?

Nopes, couldnt tell much difference between old and new, ride just feels more stable. Didnt ask abt active torque vectoring though..haha
