Hi All,

I am intending to book my Forester this weekend. Just would like to hear more from already proud owners on the below:

Average FC:

Freebies gotten:

Anyone kena the $1000 for indent colours?

Number of COE bib before getting the ride?

And additional information are most welcome. Cheer

there is only 63 pages. if you just read through the last 20 page, I am sure you will be able to get most if not all the answers.

Let me start for you. Average FC depends on a lot of things. generally, most shared that its ranges from 8-10 l/km mostly, with some achieving slightly better.

Freebies gotten: Car mats, solar film ( heard lousy quality) and front Cam ( think quite rare)

Anyone kena the $1000 for indent colours? Yes , think 1 reported case here

Number of COE bid before getting the ride? 3 bids, think for non guarantee

Just to share... when I got my XV earlier this year (previous version not the new one), I managed to bargain $1k off price and pay $200 for top up to upgrade to pioneer touch screen, GPS and reverse cam.

I know of others who managed to get free change of leather seats to other colors and small acessories like boot trays, visors and rear bumper guard.

They gave me free blackvue front cam as there was a promo going so I didn't need to bargain for that.

I feel they are less negotiable on weekends where there tend to be more people willing to sign...

My FC would not be good because of my drive pattern

I drive around Taman Jurong, Jurong West, Jurong East and NTU.

So how many % highway and how many % city? Mainly neighbourhood road.

Normally short driving distance. Something return home the engine temperature

still not very hot, about 80.

should be 80% city.

i think 1st ask yourself, assuming 100% city driving, are you comfortable with 8km / l considering the bhp.

If not, then no need to think, move on to next hunt.

My free gift is kenwood gps dvd HU, blackvue front and back cam,

front parking sensor and the usual carpet and film + 5years free service.

Coe got it on the first bid.

FC for this XT is so much better then my previous forester SG9.

Btw this is my third Subaru.

For the freebies, were they stated in the sales agreement or verbal commitment by the SE?

I believe they are stated in the sales agreement no matter where. At least it was stated in my first and only car purchase.

Have not really negotiated for freebies with my sales person. Would definitely thrash out and bargain with him once i am ready to sign on the dotted line

My colleague recently went Borneo Motors and the SE wrote behind sales agreement of some freebies (was a blank page) and collecting car soon.

It seems so illegitimate, so wanna know if MI works the same.

I tried the auto boot close and it is not working. It closed then open by itself again, SE also can't get it to work. Tried another Forester in the showroom, that one also doesn't work.......

Wow the FC is that bad? 7km per liter ?

I think got to do with travel pattern.
My Rex was around 8.5-9, 159 was 9-10.

Shall see how the XT do.

Guys just a question for existing owner. The small display in the middle of the car, I remember it show boost. Does it measure 0-100? What other info it show?

Secondly, during test drive saw the technician like repairing the auto boot close open mechanism on the show car, wonder what the reliability of it. Do they lock the function of remote opening when car is moving etc? Any safety issue? Thanks for sharing

I saw the same on the boot during one of my visits to the showroom some weeks back. Someone was playing with the boot switch and at one point, could not get the boot to close despite pressing the switch several times. He gave up trying after a while. Later I heard him asked a SE if there was any switch to disable the auto door and the reply was no.

Just to share a piece of news from my SE today - Interest rate will raise from 2.28% to 2.78% after 7th Oct 2015.

For the benefit of all, I shared this here:

http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2700184-lenders-bypassing-car-loan-curbs/page-10

My SE sent me the same yesterday.

Yes, leaked photo already shown the fuel guage and trip indicator to colored for the 2016 Facelift. The steering wheel is also different. The exterior of the facelift will include new rim design new headlamp designs with bi-xenon projectors instead of HID reflectors. You can check the video a few pages back.

By the way, there's a Subaru road show at Takashimaya (Ngee Ann City). A few brand new Subaru models are on display. Not sure if they are showcasing the new Forester models.

There's something I recall about the auto boot. There's a button in front of the driver's (near the right leg) that allows you to fix an angle to how big you want your boot to open up to.

Any new Forester XT's owner can share?

Does the road show offer better price or freebies?

In the showroom, we also didnt get the boot to work. I think the reason is because many pple play with the switch.

1) In short, to use the auto boot, press the button and let go - it will open by itself. To use manual, press and hold it for a few second.

2) Yes the height of the boot can be fixed to a certain height. You need to press the button in the drivers seat (to permanently enable it), and set the height. Subsequently, once the boot open it will be that height. To disable it, press the button again to disable it.
