Pioneer 4th Gear August 22, 2015 Share August 22, 2015 I was there too to pay the balance. The SE has mentioned that too. On top of that, price went up 2k also. With the rising COE, unlikely to come back anytime soon. Went down to MI today..........no more 5 yrs free servicing deal. Arithon 1st Gear August 23, 2015 Share August 23, 2015 Hi.. just got my XT yesterday. Running it in now. Could do with some help on the following: 1. I heard that the Subaruclubsg is now not really used and moved to a Facebook page. Can someone invite me in? How can I join? 2. Need a reliable interior installer for Subaru. Have a US model Auto-dim mirror - need to rewire to fit the EDM model that we get in Singapore. Do you know anyone that can do that? Thanks!
Tohto Hypersonic August 23, 2015 Share August 23, 2015 Let say if we tuned the ECU of the FXT to 300bhp during warranty period without changing any hardware, will MI detect it during normal servicing.?

foreput Neutral Newbie August 24, 2015 Share August 24, 2015 Pioneer collected your car? Anything to share on your new ride? Looking around to make the original ride FXT less bumpe. Any advise?
Picnic 1st Gear August 25, 2015 Share August 25, 2015 Collected the car last week. I've been driving it normally and I don't see the need to really rev beyond 3k rpm since its a XT. Just some comments/observations so far: 1) No central auto lock. My current ride has that feature and I tend to forget to lock when driving off 2) Speakers sound "hollow" although its supposed to be Harman Kardon. Lowering the bass and increasing the mid and treble seems to help a bit but still.. something is lacking in the sound quality... 3) Car accelerates seamlessly without the "pushed back into the seat" feeling of non-CVT cars.... But can easily hit 100kmh without knowing.. 4) The speedo and tacho dials are small and if don't look closely, can easily exceed the legal limits 5) Suspension feels soft but maybe its setup for comfort 6) Sound insulation isn't bad for a Jap car 7) Car "shudders" when in Neutral gear. Sometimes even stationary in D, with the foot brakes, can feel some occasional vibration 8) Like the keyless entry and remote boot function :-) Useful when shopping and can unlock the boot before reaching the car. But will be nice if there is an audible sound to indicate car locking and unlocking besides the lights flashing. This can be a configurable function for those who don't want the audio indicator 9) Weather hasn't been too hot yet to know if the solar film is effective or not 10) Cannot change the consumption reading from l/100km to km/l These are from the few days of driving so far..

Just some comments/observations so far: 1) No central auto lock. My current ride has that feature and I tend to forget to lock when driving off Agreed. Someone posted outside WS can fix the module. Worth considering 2) Speakers sound "hollow" although its supposed to be Harman Kardon. Lowering the bass and increasing the mid and treble seems to help a bit but still.. something is lacking in the sound quality... Agreed, the high note is not there, I tend to tune down the mid range too. But coming from a very sucky system from previous ride, this one not too bad lah. Not audiophile quality but not too bad either. 3) Car accelerates seamlessly without the "pushed back into the seat" feeling of non-CVT cars.... But can easily hit 100kmh without knowing.. Switch to S mode, got slight gush in head from the torque. 4) The speedo and tacho dials are small and if don't look closely, can easily exceed the legal limits Need to get used to. But I always drive above limit..lol 5) Suspension feels soft but maybe its setup for comfort On the contrary, I feel it's pretty stiff, but not firm. It's occasionally bumpy yet bouncy. Funny combination. 6) Sound insulation isn't bad for a Jap car Little wind noise in the rear, otherwise it good 7) Car "shudders" when in Neutral gear. Sometimes even stationary in D, with the foot brakes, can feel some occasional vibration The word "shudders" is very sensitive cos it sound like GB failing. You only get it when you brake right? I always thought that feeling means the brake can bite. 8) Like the keyless entry and remote boot function :-) Useful when shopping and can unlock the boot before reaching the car. But will be nice if there is an audible sound to indicate car locking and unlocking besides the lights flashing. This can be a configurable function for those who don't want the audio indicator Agreed, but I already lived without beeper for my last 2 cars. So no loss here. 9) Weather hasn't been too hot yet to know if the solar film is effective or not Yup, these few days the car feels ok. 10) Cannot change the consumption reading from l/100km to km/l After a few days you'll used to l/100km These are from the few days of driving so far..
Pioneer 4th Gear August 25, 2015 Share August 25, 2015 (edited) Not yet.. is the coming Monday. Hehe... You want it to feel softer or harder? If you want it to feel more firm, one easy way is to increase the rim size to 19". Less tyre, more metal means ride is firmer. The reverse can be done to make the car less firm by downsizing the rims size. It should not void warranty. Other methods will require the use of coil over or after market springs or struts. Very likely will void warranty. Pioneer collected your car? Anything to share on your new ride? Looking around to make the original ride FXT less bumpe. Any advise? Lousy SQ may be the problem with the HU also. Then again, the bose system from mazda was just pleasant. Nothing to shout abot. Collected the car last week. Picnic 1st Gear August 25, 2015 Share August 25, 2015 3) Car accelerates seamlessly without the "pushed back into the seat" feeling of non-CVT cars.... But can easily hit 100kmh without knowing.. May try soon ;-) 4) The speedo and tacho dials are small and if don't look closely, can easily exceed the legal limits Need to get used to. Sometimes even stationary in D, with the foot brakes, can feel some occasional vibration The word "shudders" is very sensitive cos it sound like GB failing. You only get it when you brake right? I always thought that feeling means the brake can bite. ### This happens after I've braked and the car is stationary. Sometimes I put it in N because the light just turned red and I know it takes a while before it change to green. So when the car is stationary, it will suddenly "shudders/vibrates/shivers" then still again, then it happens again. There is no pattern or timing to it. 10) Cannot change the consumption reading from l/100km to km/l After a few days you'll used to l/100km ### Yeah... I've kind of know the conversion now. I think this would be considered a negative in refinement department. My current car does this too, but it's old. I believe it's really just engine shaking the chassis a bit. If you disconnect transmission, the shaking has to go somewhere... For me it usually corresponds to a change in engine RPM... usually when it dips below the nominal idle. Reminds me of the feeling you get when an engine is about to stall. Edited August 25, 2015 by 7hm
sgcigar Neutral Newbie August 25, 2015 Share August 25, 2015 Hi, does anyone know whether EyeSight tech available for local version of Subaru cars? This is a highlighted security feature in US version of subaru. Only with this option, Subaru can get top score in IIHS test. However, I cannot find any information about EyeSight in Subaru's Singapore website or even in our forum.

They bring in cars barren and low spec and install things like reverse sensors (camera and touchscreen HU is from factory though). That means that somethings premium or probably OMV-increasing like Eyesight autonomous emergency braking is all cut.
Picnic 1st Gear August 26, 2015 Share August 26, 2015 I wonder if it is possible to configure the car system. For example, when locking the car, it will be good to be able to configure a chime in addition to the lights flashing. I don't think its hard to do as the car has a chime when the door is open and you try to lock it. The chime will sound to warn you. I've seen a car review video of the US version which allows selection of the auto-light sensitivity. It seems there are other selectable options but these seems to be disabled for our SG version. Not sure if the full set of options can be made available?

Maybe I'm mistaken. ↡ Advertisement
