2.0-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® 4-cylinder?
Will boxer engine with turbocharger give you maintenance problems after 3 years, around 55,000KM? Most likely?

There's 5 years warranty and maintenance, why worry?

The discussions are getting exciting!

I would agree the stock setup requires a tat more pedal distance before you can feel the bite. Nevertheless www.edmunds.com remarked that the FXT has one of the best braking distance in its class, following may not be apple to apple but gives a gauge:

  • "Forester 2.0XT stopped from 60 mph in 119 feet, a good number for this class"

That's about 37m. Not bad.

However my info from C&D USA says the Forester took 50m, more like 196ft.

Hard to tell which is right.

Road conditions, tyres and initial speed matters too.

you're partially correct,

because BOXER engine pistons horizontally in cylinder, gravity cause piston and cylinder a bit decentraction, so wear and tear uneven, but sufficient lubrication can overcome this issue.

no so much lah, China tested between 40 to 42m, it's average distance in this class.

Theirs should be 60mph as well. I'm not 100% certain it's the XT in question. XT does have all-around ventilated discs as opposed to front ventilated, rear solid on the non-XT.

50m/195ft is more in line with similar weight 1.7ton D-segment large cars such as the Toyota Camry.

To add on, US have the xt turbo with CVT since 2012, users reported 60k miles of driving without major issues.

When brakes are concerned fxt use ventilated disc for the rear too, it has better stopping power when compared to forester premium.

Cheers

Neutral Newbie

I got my COE on 2nd bid today, MI bid rather agressively. If I am not wrong, they revised the bid twice. First to $61k and then $64,599

Same here, 2nd bidding.
