Kippei 3rd Gear May 22, 2015 Share May 22, 2015 Can recommend brand. Apparently, my car battery can start my engine quite well but it cant hold charge long enough. When my Blackvue is running it will just drain till left 12v before it cut off. Battery CCA test show good. What i read is the alternator quick charge doesn't really charge the battery, only top off. You need a wall charger to really deep charge the battery. I top off the electrolyte and my specific gravity is less than 1.25 at 12 V ↡ Advertisement
Zippaboy 4th Gear May 22, 2015 Share May 22, 2015 (edited) Either get from limbat or get one from sim lim tower basement. I got the Vanson charger from SLT. Too many vehicles at home, so i have been using this charger to charge the batteries, so far so good. Think been using this for 5 years min.... Honestly the power magic pro not good , cut off voltage at 12V is too low. Either you add a secondary battery (those who really into ICE will do this), or add a Cell link B. I top off the electrolyte and my specific gravity is less than 1.25 at 12 V To desulphate and increase specific gravity, you need a power supply, charging at 15.8V. However, you need to monitor s.g regularly and stop charging once it reach max. A cheap power supply I use is gopher (or gophert), look for it at aliexpress. Kippei 3rd Gear May 24, 2015 Author Share May 24, 2015 I think i over dilute the acid. Thats why the specific gravity is so low. Now using the recond function to boil off the excess water

You only need to change them if battery shows sign of it being weak or brake pads are worn out. E.g. Occasional problems during starting engine, brakes giving screeching sounds
Gnahp Turbocharged October 6, 2017 Share October 6, 2017 (edited) Someone enlighten me is it too early to have my E250 car battery and brake pad change at mileage 36k at 3 years old Thank you . does your car has the stop/start system? If yes when the main battery is weak, the stop/start function will quit, that is a very early sign for brake pads, different driving styles give different wear rate, E250 has pad wear sensor, you will get the message on the dash when it is due for replacement Edited October 6, 2017 by Phang

I sent my E250 for svc yday and they told me, brake pads needs to change battery is about there , might as well and it comes w 2 years warranty. also , one minor leaks, which I have no clue , though no indication on my digital panel, but during their checks, they saw it . I am mostly surprise given my low usage 3 years at 36,000 km , need to change brake and batter . But since i asked around the forum , most said is about there, PLUS / Minus
