I rather don't have.

That’s why. If your car has ASS, come buy a Honda Jazz.

No ASS less headache. Join the Honda club.

probably one of the worst additions to modern cars after catalytic converters.

Which car has the better Auto start stop algorithm .

The simplest form is delay engine shutdown like after waiting for 10 sec of complete stop from motion.

It is just not practical to shut engine immediately right after a full stop.

I got engine shutdown on clearing car park Gantry. Reverse parking also get to the problem.

It is irritating enough .

I think Mazda System still the best, the System can control by the Brake pedal,if you don't press hard enough, engine won't stop, also can control by turning the steering to a certain angle,it i-Stop won't activate either.

why so difficult and dangerous for making adjustment to your leg pressure. just stuck a piece of plastic to the istop button. this can work in countries where you hardless stop or trsffic light took donkey yesrs to change. singapore context, not workable.

He is asking which Car got better Start/Stop system, not asking how to disable it...

I have not familiar with all the start/stop but i believe they are about the same. but i understand mazda is slightly different. my experience is sometimes you don't seem to hear the starter kicks in but the engine ignites itself via like the cyclinder compression.

whatever method, i personally dont like it at all.

we all at one point in our driving "career" hated seat belt.

today if I drive without seatbelt I feel like what chryst would feel when she goes out without wearing a bra.

It is the vibration and jerk during the restarting process that makes it irritating for me.

If they can make the restarting process during the ASS vibration free and smooth, I doubt anyone will be bothered with it enough to switch it off.

Of course for those who are not as sensitive to what's going on in their car, they will not even notice it whether the ASS is there or not.

eg. of those who are insensitive to their cars....those who call their husbands what is the blue light sign on their dash and how come everyone flashing at her.....what is OI7 written on the cap?

But when I see that doing parking the system kicking in/out is also irritating. Yeah, I also agree the system lacks some kinda intelligent mode that only engine off at the sight of a redlight or heavy traffic.

Can't help but think this system is not a long term solution. It's just put in there temp until some other solution to reduce emissions comes along.

I have ever  from a passerby point of view seen (and hear) a diesel volvo S40 with lady driver trying to park..... she took multiple points adjustment just to get into the lot... all the while the engine is being stopped and restart..stop and restart..stop and restart with every adjustment... :D Gosh ...the amount of fine particulate generated.....I pity Mother Nature.... <_<

Similar to Subaru. After getting use to the control depression of the brake pedal, i can avoid triggering the start-stop throughout the whole tank of petrol. Agree that this feature is useless in Singapore.

I used it occasionally at traffic light which is more than 1.30min. Though saving is minuscule. Lol. After 1 year. I save only 2+ litre
