Agree. If this bmw offer came first i will bite as well with bargaining too. Dont tin bmw 1 at 136k there is much profit. More likely it is to clear stock.

Oh wow, you're absolutely right bro. I went to search for LTA car cost, with a $48K coe, the basic cost for 116i luxury and 218GC, is $128410 and $148345 respectively.

With the current promo effective price of $136K and $157K for 116i and 218GC respectively, PML is only making less than $10K margin for each car. After throwing in 5yrs wty + 5yrs servicing + all other accessories, I guess they only earn from loan comm.

I noticed that A3 sedan ARF is only $30K with $15K ves rebate, means annual depre is ard $12.6K.

For bmw1, depre is ard $12K due to neutral VES and high ARF of $38K.

For all FWD BMW, the battery should be in the engine bay (rather than the boot).

By the end of your 2nd year ownership, get the battery checked during servicing.

Otherwise, you might end up calling BMW RSA.

Thanks for the heads up mate. I'll rmb to ask them to check during 2yr servicing - guess it's a gd thing then that battery is covered under PML's 5yr warranty!

personal opinion that 1.5L 4cyc turbo with 48V mild hybrid is FAR BETTER that the puny 3cyc 1.5L turbo ... [laugh]

if "extra" cyc is no biggie .. people will not swear by 6cyc and 8cyc car ... lol

i am a FAN of 48v which is previously available in "high-end" model only

now ... event the low-end entry level also got it including VW, Seat and Skoda ...  [thumbsup]

Nothing to contribute but this thread is really informative. Like!!

I seriously would only consider a liftback design due to its practicality, or at least an estate or combi.

@Logtas Yeah but 116i dont have electric tailgate either, else i would've consider 118i at that time of point when i purchased my A200. Why runflat though? I actually prefer non - runflat given the FC, noise and comfort.

Because mine was runflat tyres and the tyre could tarhan for a week despite hitting an nail. A3 dont have spare tyre. So runflat tyres give u more than enough time to look for a solution. With no electric tailgate, 116i really cut cost. Likely mild hybrid should show up in 1 series in the next few years.

Also quite sure audi will sell a3 1l turbo in the future which will be a sub 100k car. Will sell like hotcakes with mild hybrid.

BMW is always lag behind Audi in terms of technology .... :a-fun:

but because it's BMW ... people will buy :D

i remember when A4 introduce 2L 4pot turbo ... BMW 3-series still running 4pot NA except for its 335 turbo model

Yeah 116i promo is better. Only issue is that 116i is not even mild hybrid. It is new car but old tech le.

The 5 years servcing is worth it. Bmw handling on most car is no fight. However have to say audi a3 handling and suspension is one of the best i have tested this year. Bmw handling is just legendary.

Hi dude I m new as i wanted to try out diff technology. Is there a M hybrid Bmw launching this year to match up this In-tech

BMW don't embrace mild-hybrid except Diesel.

BMW sells either ICE or PHEV.

Tempted sia.. SA offered 1k topup for front back cameras and solar film - is it worth or better to head outside?

Just do with AD for front/rear camera... It will avoid any problem about warranty honouring; no need to deal with external vendor install the camera and cause problem with car electronics excuse.

Solar film make sure it is 3m. Rikekool and other brands you install and dont like, want to remove and paste new one super big headache...

@P0711142 oh now they do? previously 118i dont have i thought 116i confirm dont..

@yellowshaun  if go with AD, confirm is they choose lei.. i suspect likely is rikecool. even my merc one also rikecool.

@Logtas i see.. but i feel in SG is damn convenient. can easily bring into ws or nearby tyre shop to patch temporarily. personally feel the cons of runflat outweigh pros.

@Logtas if i proceed with current deal, SA mentioned delivery in Sept. but previously she did highlight August for the first batch of current model (replace e seats with sports, sports steering etc)..

Just spoke to SA. for those that are keen, just go to the audisale page and make a $1k refundable deposit (just need to do test drive to get refund). Can lock in price till next COE bidding.
