7hm Turbocharged July 21, 2015 Share July 21, 2015 (edited) List price on the block next to the car said 180+, but I expect after "promotions" it's around 165k, so 162k sounds about right. The showroom unit got three dials but it seemed like single zone from what I recall, got Auto button but no "dual" button. At 162k though, still feels like a bit barebones to me A3 now available with adaptive LEDs? Saw this as "optional" in the spec card Edited July 21, 2015 by 7hm

As with all conti ADs the list price is way above what they will sell the car to you. When I bought list price was also $162K (I think the list price never change for a long time). But the final price I paid was $134K. This was the ad for $139K when COE was way higher than now. http://singpromos.com/motor-vehicles/audi-a3-a4-a6-sedan-q5-offers-25-apr-2015-144484/ Edited July 21, 2015 by zerobim08

Think the "Auto" button is for auto fan speed. Those "optional" (e,g adapt LED headlights, sunroof etc) were there all along. If you want those, you have to indent (up to 6 months wait). Robin 4th Gear July 21, 2015 Share July 21, 2015 i bought mine car at the price listed on the price list unless got things like roadshow discount etc, but not much .. usually $2-3K difference On 7/21/2015 at 7:57 AM, zerobim08 said: Yeah I know. Recently at Car@Expo, the sale price was $142k (before negotiation) which was way lower than the $162K list price. If you bought the A3 sedan (base model Ambiente) at $162K recently (in 2015), then you should go and bang table at PA. Robin 4th Gear July 21, 2015 Share July 21, 2015 i bought the A3 base model last mth when they were running a promo that was just before the CEVS surcharge On 7/21/2015 at 9:33 AM, zerobim08 said: Are you refering to A3 Sedan (Ambiente) or some other car brand? Kamikaze89 2nd Gear July 21, 2015 Share July 21, 2015 TS, am really curious how you bargain down a sale listed price? jaws dropped that you haggle so much off a promo price when I find it so difficult to even get 3-5k off a listed price...not even on sale..got to call you shifu haha

I keep seeing PA advertised their promos where it stated the A3 range starts from 139K. You didnt see it? Why were you willing to pay "list" price (around 160+) which was much higher? I didnt get much off their advertised price when I bought. Just a bit on top of the scrap value of my 1 month left car plus the free servicing. If you are talking about listed price of Jap/Kor then it may be true. But for contis, there is a lot of leeway with their listed price.
Robin 4th Gear July 22, 2015 Share July 22, 2015 no, i didnt pay $160k :) but i didnt see any audi ads for A3 when i was doing my shortlisting at that point in time all i heard and saw were ads for their new A6 with internet function or something like that i downloaded the price lists for the cars that i've shortlisted from SGmart then i called the authorised dealers direct that was when PA called to inform me that they have a promo for the A3 my final 2 was between the A3 & CLA180 On 7/22/2015 at 1:15 AM, zerobim08 said: Sorry, I am really confused. To clarify, the price you paid is much closer to the "promo price" of around 140 instead of the listed price in sgcarmart 160+? If that's the case then that's fine then. Yeah true about freebies. For these contis, it is not like the AD can buy off something from aliexpress and integrate them to the car (like what you can do with Jap/Kor) due to the complex electronics. Every possible add-ons are original and cost a bomb.
vbchia 1st Gear July 22, 2015 Share July 22, 2015 I bought my A3 sports back at $136k when COE was 65k in December 2014. The list price then was $162k if I remembered correctly. Audi, BMW and Merc showrooms won't tell you what you can expect unless you are ready to commit. I remembered when I bought my B180 from C&C during March 2011, they gave me an overtrade for my old skoda to the tune of 3k and then another 10k off the list price of 145k. So you tell me, their margins are how high?

Machiam go Bkk, everytime buy something is always have to bargain until 10% then nego until 50%.
vbchia 1st Gear July 22, 2015 Share July 22, 2015 Quite true but they can only do so much as the market is quite transparent nowadays, one look at the pricing part in SGcarmart can tell you what % premium they are quoting the list price at. Then you work backwards to the price offered to you and you decide if that premium is ok. 136k with COE at 65K, their premium was about 15 to 18% which to me was ok as there's the warranty costs, SA's commission and some freebies etc.
