RS Chip Tuning

wah, reading all the positive reviews of this RS Chip really made me wet my sofa seat. i'm a power loving guy :a-happy:

well, just a question here before i jump into the pool. would this chip compliment what i already have (enhance and better)

or should i just stay with just my tuned Apexi if the RS chip would NOT help much (for that $) ?

TIA

Based on my *limited* understanding of the RS Chip, it is not designed to work with other ECU tuning mods.  It is meant for ease of use/installation - plug into obd port and choose one of the 4 pre-defined tuning settings.  It may conflict with your existing tuning because it modifies the existing tuning

BTW, is there any good user reviews of this product on this thread or website?  Really thinking of installation but just worried about potential downsides.

I bought my rschip gen2 from MT in Feb.

You can pair up using bluetooth and then set it to 4 preset setting using your own smartphone:-

  • Sport+
  • Sport
  • Normal
  • Eco

Did not do any dyno thats why also dont know how much but the driving improved. Not drastically because I'm just 1.6 NA.

Smoother I will say.

But then I am posting to sell it already. Reason is because I feel it doesnt work as well if you decided to further mod your car.

Thats where you probably want custom tune instead.

Btw I'm driving the 1.6 Lancer EX.

impossible for N.A engine to have 20% gain off stock parts. u've to upgrade intakes or exhaust at least.

the reason for RS ship is u its more flexible as u can twitch between fuel eco and performance tune. for ECU remap u can only choose one map.

For N.A Cars its better to tune for economy. so far i saw a vezel on RSChip gained 56Nm of torque.

ECU remap does have "select a tune". Trifecta tune does have it. Can be enabled and disabled via cruise button. And it can increase 44+WHP and 70 Nm of torque easily for turbo model.

I know nothing about mop car therefore allow me to ask a stupid question.

occasionally I will drive my wife cooper (non s) to nsh help her to wake up her car doing at 200km/h +-.

assuming after chip in, there will be a 10% increase in power. does it means that now I can do it at 220km/h and 0 - 100 improve to below 9 sec?

if I can't achieve the above than what is the point of chip in?

I still can't figure out what is the benefit of chip in after reading the forum? maybe some expert here can enlighten my doubt.

U get power gain. but a RS Chip wont give u as much gain compared to a custom tune. every engine is built different. every engine has slight variation due to the nature of human error. thus a custom tune can max out your car's potential.

If your car has no turbo. then drop the idea of a custom tune or a RS Chip. the power gain is too little to be felt of any difference. however in a turbo car. u can expect 20-30% gain in torque and horsepower. as for timing wise u can only know when u do a dyno run.

My ride was 154bhp on paper has a 210bhp on dyno after a custom tune.

thanks, bro. will forget about tuning her cooper.

if I custom tune my ecu, will pml remap it back to the original stage during servicing? coz I understand that they will update my ecu during servicing. I don't really fancy the plug and play chip as may affect the reliability of the engine.

I also own a Malaysia registered turbo diesel 4x4, what is the recommended chip to boost especially torque? that burger weight 2t and feel heavy with the current 2.2l turbo engine. I will prefer a plug and play type coz the car is too new to do custom tune and may get the warranty void. car in Malaysia is not that expensive so I don't mind giving it a try on plug n play device. any recommended shop in jb can do a good job? (can't drive it to sin to get it done)

If no turbo, rschip is the only choice for piggyback cos no point for more expensive racechip ultimate.

If turbo, go racechip ultimate cos it has turbo boost but rschip does not. Btw, racechip ulimate just released BT version with user selectable setting similar to current rschip. No need to plug computer for racechip ultimate now.

hi

i am driving a honda vezel, was thinking of putting RS chip.

is it a good idea? anyone put before and can share how is it?

Scroll to first page and take your time to read through. Most positive comments come from RSCHIP users while most negative comments come from NON-RSCHIP users. You decide whether you want to believe the people who have used it before or believe negative comments from people who never even tried the product before.

so, Im looking for a car to purchase over the summer and tune. I plan on doing this all by myself so I can learn more about cars, I just need help deciding/finding a car that is reasonably priced and fairly cheap to work on. What cars would be my best bet? Im looking for a RWD car.

Bro if you conti can consider Monster Tune.

A few of my friends did their custom tune with them.

Feedback was good.

I installed my rschip.gen2 with them.

Very friendly group of people.
