Wt_know Supersonic April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 (edited) yes ... respect to a founding father is not just by retaining an empty house (for show) and most importantly it is his wish . . . unless want to turn it into a tourist spot like many countries do ... (no point) Edited April 12, 2015 by Wt_know
Wishcumstrue 6th Gear April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 LKY was very specific about it - demolish the house. So far public only know his daughter is staying their. After Mr and Mrs Lee pass on, I think it will be like any residence where elderly couple used to stay. Sad though is the house itself is well over 100 years old. Volvobrick Supersonic April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 Just like man other old sites, will soon be a condo or shoppingmall.... AAnyone think it would be donated to become a public park without the house?

Count-Bracula Twincharged April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 Yes but a pity. My grand parents used to stay just round the corner at 123 River Valley Road so we pass by this landmark quite often whenever we visit kong kong ma ma in the 70s till mid 80s. Always been afraid of the gurkhas in the sentry boxes. Demolish.

Lala81 Hypersonic April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 If it's in his wishes, it should be demolished. I think probably one of the coins/notes should be changed to commemorate him or maybe a new $20 note? Beyond that, i think it's too much.

ins1dious Turbocharged April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 He leads by example. He demolished most of our ancestral houses, in the name of progress. He will also demolish his own so that no one can say he is double standards. Can't say the same for today's administrators. Those people who are petitioning to build monuments, name airport after him, never read his books. Read at least one lor. so many politicians build monuments for themselves or to show the future their legacy. LKY doesn't need that type of trifles. His legacy is clear to see out of the window.
Achtung 6th Gear April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 Yipee, now Lloyd Road can build high rise condo liao! Yes, if it is his wish. It should be respected. My grand father shop at Killiney is just round the corner from his rear gates at Dublin Road and still there. I lived at Killiney too and enbloc in 2007. Always catch spider at Dublin Road and watch Gurkas move in and out in bus loads. Miss the security when LKY was alive. Felt safe. Yes but a pity. My grand parents used to stay just round the corner at 123 River Valley Road so we pass by this landmark quite often whenever we visit kong kong ma ma in the 70s till mid 80s.
