Can anyone tell me if the diesel carens can last 500,000km in its 10 year cycle? its using crdi engine like taxi right? should be able to last as long as taxi with crdi engine right? heard taxi can overclock 1million and reset to 0 and work perfectly fine. just abit worried about their different transmission.. i drive ard 100-150km, max 250km a day.. so.. ya. currently altis second hand bought ard 44k km now already 320k km in 5 years. please advice. is kia reliable and lasting? or maybe should i stick back to toyota and get a wish instead.

secondly is the diesel engine that i m interested. because currently every week go in jb to top up petrol.. very tiring. if diesel just top in sg.

Please advise. thanks.

Well.. the kia diesel is one of the most popular MPV in europe. And, kia has a good reliability rating too.

Think about it this way, a conti diesel mpv may breakdown often after 3 year 100k km, japan mpv is petrol which cost really alot, kia is like a fusion of asia and europe car maker

Haha

Must check out the Kia diesel sales in Europe... I don't think they are very large volume sellers cos the European diesels are more refined, especially VW and the French brands... but for petrol I think they are quite popular...

In fact I think for Hyundai and Kia, the major market where they have mad significant inroads is in the US... they really sell significant numbers there... and the US doesn't like diesel...

Hi guys, I'm one of those who ordered a petrol carens. I saw the visor at taobao due to the link here. Thanks for sharing. I ordered it with the boot mat through the direct shipper but the visor got rejected for shipping as they said it's too big. Seller said it's dimension is 1.1m long.

How did you all get it shipped ah? Is anyone doing a mass buy? I can't figure out taobao coz I'm using it for the first time. Thanks.

Hi Kelvinseet

I am the one who share the taobao link. I got no problem with the shipping of the visor. Was using PRouter, one of the TB shipping agent.

I suggest you msg the shipping to help repackage within the length limit (can practise chinese typing). Don't choose the POPstation, its only for small item only, the normal shipping should be able to take in 1.2m length.

Hmm I used the direct shipping option. That sends direct to my house but there's also a cap to the size options.

I asked for a refund first. How much was your shipping ah. Thanks. The combined original shipping cost was 75 rmb for the boot mat and visor. It was good enough for me. I would think the boot mat would have a bigger box and heavier but the visor was the one that got rejected. Weird.

Total weight of the mat and visor shld be abt 6kg plus. Shipping is ard there depending which shipper. Try to talk to the shipper to help. Shld works as limit is 1.2m

The mileage is abt 7L/100km for my typical 70%highway 30%city route.Full tank is 58L as spec but was advice by some diesel driver not to wait till refuel lights on as no good for engine. If based on my driving style, one tank shld hit at least 700km plus.

Seems like diesel can get around 40% more mileage against petrol per tank. And diesel cost is around 40% cheapest than petrol. Should have gotten the diesel version instead :(

When did you get your ride ?

I thought I have been sharing, DON'T BUY THE PETROL VERSION !!! And I am serious.

Yes ...... I am driving one now .....

Anyway, you should be getting 9+ ~ <10 km/L.  Mine is 8.5 ~ 9+ km/L.

Heard because a lot of bankruptcies in O&G, so much, the excess crude will be depleted by End-Q3.  Price should start to climb again.  And by End 2017, oil should go back to the 70~100 range.

Will our government REDUCE Petrol Duty then ?

Got to balance with the higher road tax that u pay. So all in, if annual mileage is high, diseal might be better.
