Yysiong 3rd Gear April 5, 2016 Share April 5, 2016 Just checked with Workshop. Diesel car average servicing cost almost doubled petrol. Even if i look ar AD kia care service plan, diesel package is $700 more than petrol. No wonder when i go renault checking out kadjar, their 2 year service package is 2.3k... ↡ Advertisement

snowwolf 1st Gear April 5, 2016 Share April 5, 2016 I just serviced 1k mileage at C&C 2 weeks ago which is included in my car package. I checked ndiesel service package and it's same price offer for petrol. 4 servicing for 2 years or 40k mileage for $1.4k. Include 1 major, 1 maintenance and 2 lubricant. They told me no expiry. They will carry on 4 servicing even over 2 years. I did not sign up because still cover free service.

snowwolf 1st Gear April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 I was checking for diesel 4 servicing package and it was $13xx and with gst is $14xx. Saw the petrol version column above it and it is same. Yysiong, if u interested just call in and verify the petrol servicing package. Brochure u saw could be outdated, promotion, or for older Model and etc.

snowwolf 1st Gear April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 No need warm up. Mine is keyless. Usually I start engine and just drive after 10s. SE not mention about warm up. Not in manual as well. I have read every pages of my Carens owner manual. Those for cool country if temperature fall below certain threshold maybe require heat up diesel but very rare. I'm not sure about petrol, 1.7 Diesel engine is powerful enuf for me. I drove to KL 2 weeks ago and test run at 160km/h effortlessly and not feeling very fast at all. The heavy body and sound proof really make a lot of different. Felt like driving a luxury car. My advantage is cheap diesel and left about half tank when reaches KL. and Malaysia euro5 diesel is RM1.45!!! Super happy paying at fuel station. I notice first gear startup pickup a bit lag. still not very good at controlling it. Too much pedal it skip. Too little then slow. Second gear onwards is better control. Overall very satisfy with my Carens. Outside looks elegant, inside feel spacious, high tech and luxury, with reasonable price. :)
Lyk76 Clutched April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 Anyone take the platinium or standard package? Is the addition 4k worth it? Quite concern on the servicing fees as i have enjoying typically below 200 for my current Axio servicing.

snowwolf 1st Gear April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 Highway driving is smooth, comfortable and peaceful. I'm using sport mode for steering during highway drive. It's a bit heavy but felt very stable and safe. Not using cruise control and speed limit anyway. Find it redundant at the moment. Will see.
AWC Neutral Newbie April 9, 2016 Share April 9, 2016 Thanks. Currently driving a Honda Stream, expiring in 1 year time. Kia Carens diesel looks like a good replacement for me, but some reviews said the car feels twitchy at high way speed. Hope to hear more fedback from you. snowwolf 1st Gear April 9, 2016 Share April 9, 2016 Every car is unique in term of setting, alignment and the way ppl handle their car. Everyone will have different feel and opinion based on their past driving experience and expectation. My past experience with Honda Airwaves. With that price I paid, performance it's acceptable. Not bad. Now with 1.7 diesel SX. This one felt really value for money with current high COE price. And OMV of this car. It's 25k! Performance and material built-in are above my expectation. Just knob the door metal and listen to sound when close the door you will know it's not those thin metal wrap around the car. You know what I mean. And just 17" rims with Hankook tyres will make some different by itself. Also different setting on steering wheel like comfort or standard will give different feeling. Sport mode is highly recommended for highway driving. I feel comfortable with this setting and use it for all day driving as well. Ask around if anyone willing to let you try it on highway speed. But don't ask me...

I think taking the platinum package is better, They will be mre sincere in bidding, ie they will bid a higher value for your coe and will be more willing to adjust to get that COE ↡ Advertisement
