This is referring to diesel or petrol?

I would agree for petrol but diesel, i am expecting more.

That's high for a brand new car rite, u nvr complain to ur sale person when u collect ur car?

Complain already then how? What can the SE do? He doesn't control the workshop and the delivery guys mah... probably drove the car from the port? Not sure also... but aiyah... 69 km only... peanuts lar...

For petrol engine, 12 km /L is pretty good. For diesel, should be at least 15 km / L lar...

Just to check, has any users here left ur diesel car idling for >4 days? The sales was telling me that if the Diesel engine doesn't get started for >4 days there may be a slight choke and the roundabout solution is to drive it on the highway and maintain speed at >60km for 20mins. Just wondering if any owners have encountered this scenario?

hi. mine is a sorento diesel. did not drive for 4.5 days once. no issue. I didnt go to the highway. in fact, I didn't know about it being a problem.

I think they usually don't mention about it. I happen to learn about it when I asked que about servicing and stuff. But it shouldn't be much of a problem since we can clear it by running on the road for 20mins. I actually asked two sales person and both told me the same thing.

Hi Guys,

 

I am thinking of getting the diesel version. Main thing holding me back is the DCT gearbox.... May I know what is the service interval of it? Some say the 2 clutches in the gearbox needs to be changed. Not sure how much does it cost . This DCT gearbox is also the dry type (like those having problems with VW).

Their DCT reliability is still mystery as only just launch in SG this year. It will take at least 2 to 3 year for any major problem to surface

And.. wish is the best selling MPV in SG for Jan to Mar....

 

Why korean car all rank at the back 1...

It takes time for Kimchi car to top the chart. Just look at how Samsung cheong to lead in the electronics sector.

Any bros driving the petrol version of the latest GDi engine pls post milleage, still hearing a lot of rumors that it's lesser than 10km/L combined.

Kia no longer selling petrol version anymore.

 

If you getting caren, its currently the most cost efficient MPV on the market if you are looking at 2 airbags unless you looking at not taking loan completely which C&C is not willing to do much on this area.

And doesn't mind its looks,

Its a bnb MPV la. No frill and low running cost.

 

Just pray they sell enough of it for stockist to keep spare parts.

 

Till now...i dont see alot of carens on the road

for me, i took Orlanda cos managed to get no loan, 10 years running cost about the same as caren Ex but caren does have more features below.

 

Keyless engine start
Auto headlights
Front proximity sensors
Remote boot release
DRL
Multizone AC
Drive Eletric Seat
Leather steering wheel
Projection headlamp
Eco mode
Auto headlight off after park
Some niche human touch

 

But one other thing, Caren's interior although nicely divided for 2nd row, i do find it squeezy and as a heavy driver, driver compound is a little cramp for me.

Exterior wise, Carens front looks like cherry QQ, too tame for my liking and around a little to soft image for me.

 

Drive wise, no other car in the same category price bracket can challenge the 340NM torque i think. It climb so effortlessly. If you tested at Alexandra, you will be lead to to climb a small high at labrador park entrance. 

I tested that climb on my orlando 1st day i got my car, Orlando can fell a little struggle, meaning its smaller turbo engine needs to work harder compared to Caren's 1.7 TDI

 

So, if you are taking loans + have a family whom is regular sized and don't mind the exterior of Caren, its a good buy.

my XXL family prefers the bigger interior of Orlando.

 

Be reminded that if doing 150km per year, 10 years TCO Works out to be similar.
