Simonraj Neutral Newbie March 31, 2015 Share March 31, 2015 (edited) HI all Can any Toyota Camry JDM owners ACV40 confirm if the location of the oil filter is at the front of the Engine bay as shown in this image below (see attachment). I've seen that in that the US Camry the oil filter is at the bottom. Do you need specialise tools to remove the oil filter? Simonraj Neutral Newbie April 1, 2015 Author Share April 1, 2015 Thanks for the video. Yeah most videos I see online shows the oil filter at the bottom. These are usually the videos from the US or the Thai made Camry. Was this particular video you posted taken for the JDM Camry? Many thanks.

ACV40 engine comes with a cartridge oil filter and can be removed with a cup oil filter wrench size ; 65mm x 14flutes After year 2012 all Camry 4 cylinder engine comes with canister oil filter that has paper element. To remove the plastic or aluminium cover you will need to have a cup oil filter wrench 64.5mm x 14 flutes with 6 slots to improve the wrench leverage. Hope this helps

The new type is eco-filter, where only the paper filter is replaced, whereas with cartridge filter both the filter and sheetmetal casing is discarded. In many parts of US and Europe , the enviroment enforcement agency normally request workshops to drain the cartridge free of excess oil and physically remove the sheetmetal casing and the filter element in order to facilitate recycling. Simonraj Neutral Newbie April 1, 2015 Author Share April 1, 2015 Yeah seems like difficult to DIY. Thanks guys for the update. One more issue is the rear air con when turn my climate control to 24 degrees the rear air vents blow hot air. However when it's 22 degreesand below is cool air. This is only for the rear air con vents. Anyone faces the issue too? M not sure if it's the air-con thermostat that is spoilt. ↡ Advertisement
