Shops for shock installation

Hi guys, need to change my BM E60 shocks as its already leaking, will order one set new shocks from US, any bro could recommend one shop can do the labour installation with good skill? ofcos with alinetment done together, tks

The first shop that came to my mind was look for Raymond from Fong Kim.

 

Hopefully you'll get some other suggestions here.

The cheapest I came across was 80 bucks for all 4 shocks. I got my alignment done elsewhere.

 

Hmm unless you have some lobang to bring in shocks from the states, it may not be cheaper than if you were to get it from a local stockist. Good that you're sourcing your own parts. I hate letting workshops make money out of me.

depends on your buttocks.

 

years ago I used B8 with lowered springs on an Octavia. I find it ok.

 

Now I'm on B6 with stock springs on a Saab. Used for 3mths +, going to change next week to original shocks. Sometimes it's the "matching" issue. It's not hard, just very bumpy.

The Bilstein B6 is fantastic. It is a little stiffer than stock but I doubt you'd notice it.

ofcos labour only, one famous shop even quoted 600 . but i thk change shock need to dis-assemble the spring and old shock, reassemble back with new shock , change mounting bla bla, and do wheel alignment also, coilover is like integrated everything into one piece so much simple just like swap batt, take and go

Holy crap! That's a lot. I think it's because you drive a BMW so these f**kers wanna make money out of you. I hate such a**holes! These f**kers like to size you up based on the car you drive.

 

Changing the shocks on a RWD car is easy. Yes you would have to separate the spring and old shock but that isn't hard to do. I've done it before at home. You just need a jack, jack stands or a few old rims lying around to prop the car up, torque wrench, spanners and a spring compressor or a lot of strength. But you'll sweat like crazy. That's the only reason why I would bring it to a workshop and pay 80 bucks.

 

I don't think you need to change mounting unless it has cracked but that's rather uncommon. Normally it's the bump stop that fails. The Bilstein B6s come with the bump stop so you can use that.
