If you look at the Odyssey thread, Honda Sensing is available in the Odyssey Absolute model (not available in the Kah model) is only available in Japanese and cannot be converted to English. However, most of the Honda Sensing features such Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Road Sign Recognition is by default active and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) can be easily switched on using the steering controls.

Hope this info on Honda Sensing helps you decide on whether to add it to your Stepwagon.

Ultimately I think it depends on the cost. Anyone know yet? It's a nice to have, not a must have; how nice if it is included without additional top up.

For Toyota Sense C with 3 functions - Pre-collision System (PCS), Land Departure Alert (LDA) & Automatic High Beam (AHB) it cost additional $1.5k. I'm wondering how much it cost for Honda Sensing with 7 functions -

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)

Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

False Start Prevention Function

Lead Car Departure Notification System

Traffic Signs Recognition

Nightjar - Ya my PI also told me about 24K. But 'cos none of his customer got the car yet (still on the sea), hence no actual registration yet. I'm just trying to verify what he said is true. You know, if the actual OMV is lesser than what he claimed then we are at disadvantage.

Me too! Also getting my white 7 seater Spada some time next week. Currently driving a smallish Toyota Vios 1.5L so it will be quite an upgrade for me.

By the way congrats! Another fast one. Currently I'm also driving a smallish Vios! :)

Thanks!

First time buying from PI, so naturally want to avoid the agony of a long delivery time with an unfamiliar PI. Therefore I took the immediate registration option since they already have the car passed VITAS sitting right there in the showroom. Signed the order on September 1 and expect to collect it around wednesday next week.

Haha... I'm not a motoring expert, just getting the car basing on what I thought would best suit my needs. Anyway I will report after driving it for a while.

Zaska, all of us haven't received our rides as yet so can't comment on engine noise. Some folks here will be collecting in the next weeks so we'll get more reviews soon.

To be realistic, Honda's aren't known for noise refinement, that's a trait associated with Lexus and high end Toyotas. Stereotyping but Honda's focus is on engine performance, handling and for their smaller cars, interior space optimisation.

To be fair, what you have heard might not be fair comparison unless you have known more about circumstances.

When a car is first started after a long idle period such as overnight, it would rev to higher speed to warm up the engine so definitely would be more noisy compare to another or same ride that has warmed up sufficiently. This is especially pronounce for those turbo engines or high-compression type engines. But fret not, it should last only a few minutes then return to normal sound.

So I would not conclude that Stepwagn is noisier than other rides unless I know more, but then again it is fair to say turbo engine is noisier since it rotates at higher speed. The question is only how much noisier.

Stepwagon Vs Esquire

Stepwgn timing 1'21"677

Esquire timing 1'24"818

Not quite an apple to apple comparison leh. Esquire was conceived as a luxury car for towkay. Even the stock tyres are just 15" compared to SW's 17". On the track, the same driver will drive differently even with the same car each time.

Anyway, this will make SW enthusiasts happy. Straight line timing. Beats Noah by 0.5sec when only the driver's onboard. But it appears to struggle a little against the Noah with 3 pax and AC on? Anyway, the Serena takes the crown amongst the 4 models compared. Enjoy ...

Ps: Don't share this with the Biante folks .... [:)]

Lol…

Just comparing why SW is nosier….

Be it SW, Triplet or Biante, I do believe that we share the same needs for purchasing a minivan. Cheers.
