Sorry hijack this a little, was there yesterday but to look at the Grand Picasso.

 

Testdrive the Diesal 1.6 e-HDi ETG6 , sure enough gear shifting 1st-3rd is a little dissappointing and diesal engine very noisy.

Then was told there is Petrol version 1.6 THP EAT6. Surprising the shifting is effortless ... like any Japanese CVTs.

 

My question is ... I understand lots of complains abt Citroen's gearbox reliability and performance. Is this EAT6 (full auto) a new gearbox that resolved the problem? A little confuse because ... as I read the forum, the timeline suggest that ETG6 (the auto clutch) is the new improve solution for Citroen. As such the complains from forum about gearbox problems is referring to which gearbox?

On cactus, if I'm single I would consider ... it's very roomy and stylo-milo. Will definitely be a chic magnet. Design inside is very unique, modern and practical. Citroen design is definitely a head turner ... but hows the gearbox?

From what I check,minimum ARF payable is $5k. So PARF is not exactly $5k, it is between 50 to 75% of the ARF depending on the number of years.

I think the rear pop-out windows reduces the wind drag compared to normal up/down windows.

Wind flow in through the front windows, and exit through the rear pop-out windows.

However, if the ICA officer (checkpoints) request to wind down the rear windows, then it would not be possible.

More like 5k ARF paid. The rebate is 0.75 to 0.5 of this value upon scrap. Works out to be 3.75k to 2.5k

Like other C4 based platform the passenger rear windows only pop out and cannot be wind down. IMO typical queer French design. I think this car is a lite version of the C4 with the reduced body weight for economy in mind. It doesn't even have a tachometer or rev counter. It's telling you to forget about performance.

The rear pop out window is worst ever design. One, the driver couldn't close it with the press of a button if he/she noticed it's left open while driving. It will end up the driver forbidding anyone to open it coz he/she have to stop the car, get out, go to the rear door to close it.

 

 

From some of the reviews I saw on youtube the tire/road noise is loud although non of the car journalists mention it. That means the weight lost could also have the sound insulation removed. I also think there are a lot of plastics used for weight reduction.

 

The exterior is not as bad as the Picasso. The throttle response if any I notice from the youtube reviews when the lady pedal to the metal but nothing happens. That's pretty bad for overtaking.

 

Overall I think it's a great car for the ladies who doesn't care much for performance, doesn't care if they parked in a hideous manner coz if ppl whack their doors against the car the air padding would protect the doors from dents. Ideal family car for the ladies.

yes, according to one of youtube video on cactus, it's a 200kg shaved off from c4.

 

rear pop out window is like last time honda civic 3-dr rear window panel - that rear doors shaved off 6kg.

 

throttle response i find is like 1.3 honda insight (minus motor torque) / jazz - in fact when i drove my 2l tucson (ya, i know this is no performance vehicle either), cant tell the diff; so suitable for family of 4 / 5.

 

i'm attracted by the unconventional design interior / exterior + low road tax, only issues being resale value n reliability.
