Freeman 1st Gear March 4, 2015 Share March 4, 2015 No more free servicing liao for my Sylphy, going for 20k servicing soon. Can I check with those with the experience here if I am able to bring my own oil filter & air filter? How much can I save by doing so? ↡ Advertisement

Micb 5th Gear March 4, 2015 Share March 4, 2015 Yah, taking their package....i didn't know there's something else Their servicing package is inclusive of the oil and filter. The oil is in-house brand FasFlo. I don't think there is any meaningful reduction in price from the package, if owner bring own oil/filter. I agree that their servicing package is quite alright, and transparent. All info available in TC website.

As a proud car owner, its not simply about the cost of oil and filter for me to save on, i rather bring own oil, save on the costs, and use the savings to get superior oils, not just brand wise, but with transparent specsheets on the contents added, flow rate etc etc

Kangadrool Supersonic March 4, 2015 Share March 4, 2015 this one common sense, but uncommon... $$$, cash cards, credit cards.... I even remove GPS last time. For everyone's sake.... Serious.... Think of others also. Imagine if you're the service centre staff and kena accuse of "stealing".... for which you have not done. Columbian78 6th Gear March 4, 2015 Share March 4, 2015 (edited) I am also driving B17 Sylphy. Next servicing is the free 10k servicing. will need to top up about 60 for the syn oil instead of mineral oil. I already have the npmp all the way till 50k, which will incl syn oil. the free servicing at 1k, 5k and 10k only incl mineral oil. I always bring my own oil when servicing my old car at kah motor. heard tan chong in house oil is good so will give it a try this time. mine is turbo engine btw. dont know should go for higher friction oik? so far the servicing experience is ok. i dont like the waiting format where u stand and wait around for service advisor. prefer to have a queue number like kah motor. You can also pay the current service package and next servicing, you decide to sign up. They have no problem. You can also go outside to try, remember to ask them the update your maintenance book and then go back TC 6 months later, they will let you sign up.

Columbian78 6th Gear March 4, 2015 Share March 4, 2015 This was what my service advisor told me. The free servicing at 1,5,10k comes with mineral oil. You can opt for syn oil but need to top up $60. I am not sure whats the price difference between typical mineral and syn oil cos I had been buying syn oil only. For 10k, I would prefer to use syn oil as the next interval is 10k away. I think I will ask them if there is any charges if I bring my own oil. bro why must top up 60bucks?mobile 1 engine oil 5w30 is $15 per quart only. feels like double chargingbro why must top up 60bucks?mobile 1 engine oil 5w30 is $15 per quart only. feels like double charging
