Can't understand why these big businesses selling big ticket items are so difficult to deal with pertaining to refunds. They should learn from companies like Ikea. I heard a lot of travel agency got cash flow problem. Once buy travel package, must immediately buy travel insurance with travel agency insolvency coverage. Icedbs Turbocharged June 23, 2016 Share June 23, 2016 Perhaps it is better to book 1 or 2 months before a tour and sign-up only those tour which are "guranteed". Yes, it is more expensive since it is nearer to the departure date, but you don't get the agony of being told that the tour is canceled because they could not form the group. Even money is refunded, what about the time wasted for the tour to be formed and then if canceled, have to rush to sign another agency? I really think STA should compile statistics of all the tour cancel due to insufficient group size every quarter and see how rampant is this problem. If it is rampant enough, it could also mean that the tour agency did not put enough planning in-place because it is so convenient to just collect deposit, improve their cashflow for the time being and then just happily cancel if not enough group size. Poor customer not only has to wait for the refund, but has to go hunt for another agency/package at the very last minute. This unfair practice has been going on for too long. Travelbug Neutral Newbie July 27, 2019 Share July 27, 2019 (edited) Same problem with CS Travel. Refund not received yet. I had refund before by SA Tour and it did not take more than a month. CS Travel is just using our money for cash flow and not confirming the tour. 3 years since 2016 when STB revoked its licence for its unprofessional practice on refund. Until now still no improvement. True enough, the tour didn't get confirmed due to insufficient pax. Still haven't get back my refund. They are still using your deposit for cash flow but not confirming any tour.
