Lotr 6th Gear March 28, 2016 Share March 28, 2016 Good choice n welcome to lions family. I'm sure u will not regret for at least e next 3 to 5yrs. Beyond that yet to be seen, hmm..... May be by then we can change car together with my son n squeeze AD for bulk purchase on special price. Meantime enjoy it n keep our lions running healthily. Good choice n welcome to lions family. Hope you are right and the new puretech engine doesn't have the same problems as the old prince engineIn fact I wanted to claim more for at least 5 yrs since AF provides 5 yrs warranty or 100k on whichever come first. But after hearing from our bro Benpower comments, I reduce to 3 to 5yrs to be saved.
Sowfat 2nd Gear March 28, 2016 Share March 28, 2016 Notice this time round ppl who can afford brand new car are in better advantage n more fortunate, beside enjoying e new car smell, u are also protected by warranty n free servicing etc... Meaning u have carefree enjoyment till u pass e baton to next person to carry your baby. Best part these ppl got to pay for a higher depreciation compare to first owner. For 308 now depreciation at abt 10k per year, I don't rule out that when someone who takes over by then will need to pay 11k per year, that offset your depreciation becomes only at 9k per year if u change car in 5yrs' time. I learned this last year when we went round looking for fairly new 2nd hand car by thinking to enjoy on first owner's loss to be our gain. Eventually I then realised that was an old school thinking. Not applicable in Lion City. So I told my son not to waste time, just go for brand new car if he could afford. This is what we call e rich will become richer especially in Lion City, n hope all lion's owners will be richer too. Cheers
Jango 2nd Gear March 29, 2016 Share March 29, 2016 Well, long warranty coverage can work both ways. AD can easily say a faulty part is wear and tear and not covered under warranty - owner suck thumb. Moreover, owners are locked down to continue with their expensive servicing in the 4th and 5th year, just to ensure AD does not void the warranty. In both cases, AD wins. Why do you think C&C boldly offers 10 year warranty for engine for KIA? However if you r buying a VW, 5 years warranty is a must although now VW offers only 3 years because apparently they have "resolved" the gb issue. 7hm Turbocharged March 31, 2016 Share March 31, 2016 (edited) The current 308 PureTech generation is, from the looks of it, Peugeot returning to their roots of innovation, stylishness and possibly reliability. Hopefully, in three years time, you new lion owners will be able to say it is true! For me actually, I was planning to buy 308SW as a shorter-term vehicle, so the reliability wasn't so big for me. AF is trying hard to prize these new PureTech engine technology like their bread and butter. and so no doubt they are pretty confident of this new generation... but I do learnt recent case of a 6month old ride with PureTech broke down. I won't reveal much detail here, but it surely depress my confidence level slowly..

Huge 2nd Gear April 1, 2016 Share April 1, 2016 In fact where can u find a car nowadays at 100+k that come with everything! 308 is almost u name it, it has it all. Full LED lights, Keyless, GPS, reverse cam, park assist, blind spot detector, sun roof and many more extra, except electric seats, best is small 1.2cc turbo engine that delivers 130hp, which is e higher hp in cat A, yet u pay lesser road tax to enjoy big power. Care to share if u can find any better buy than this? To me is a no brainer. Only thing I hope I'm not speaking too soon. Lol... Agree with you. I feel short change by the Jap cars. i owned a Mz 3 2.5GT (not in Sg) that is equipped with the all the safety features like blind spot monitoring, smart city braking, which i feel should be at least offered as basic part of the vehicle sold here. I was even willing to pay to equip, but not able to even indent for it. So when the 308 offered blind spot detector, i was sold as i have been searching for my replacement car. The bonus is the park assist.
